| Hananoi's terrible, abusive tendencies keep coming out and it's clear he hasn't learned anything from what he did in past relationships, like installing stalkerware and checking the text messages of his ex. I feel bad for Yao, who is genuinely caring of her and tries to help her the most in the situation, while she's stuck with an abusive dude who she shouldn't give the time of day to. There's a fine line between working through your past difficulties and learning to be in a healthy relationship, which is one of the things this story tries to do (deconstruct how a lead who falls hopelessly in love with someone else and influenced by romcoms is quite creepy), but he's so far over the line that this isn't funny. I'm glad she got in a fight with him. Hananoi hasn't changed, even if he pretends has has. Great chapter though. |
