How to go through the series?

I want to start the series but from what I have heard, the second season is not as good as one. So , should I watch the second season or read the manga after thi first. Also, it will help if you let me know from which chapter to pick up the manga after season 1.

Also, what will be your rating of the story as a whole out of 10?

Watch season 1, book of circus, book of murder then book of Atlantic. skip season 2 if you only want manga cannon. The book of Atlantic arc ends around volume 14 of the manga

Hi, if you want to watch in the order of the manga, you should watch since the first episode of season 1 to the 16 episode and then watch the 3 season: book of circus,then the book of murders ovas and then the book of atlantic movie.the first season has an end but from chapter 16 on it is completely something other than the manga. but it seems to me a very good ending too. the second season (kuroshitsuji II) is completely original and has nothing to do with the manga either. it's not that bad either but you could watch it just for entertainment.
The manga is published monthly. Sorry for my bad english

Do as you planned and skip S2. You can watch OAVs and movies they are fine too. Overall a solid 8; my rate for S2 2/10 (just for the OST)

Episodes 1-6 and 13-15 are the only canon episodes of S1 after that its book of circus,the book of murder ovas and book of Atlantic movie

Just watch the first arc (around 6eps) from season 1 and then Book of Circus, followed by Book of Murder and Book of Atlantic. Theres a couple of more canon episodes in S1, but that's mostly foodporn, so it's up to you ig.

I just watched the whole thing, then went to the wiki and learned the only thing canon out of this 24 episodes series is the Jack The Ripper story and the Indian Guys story which was like 3 episodes. Around 17-18 stuff stopped making sense, but my headcanon is "don't think about it too much".
