| Ego post Will definitely edit later. Let me just start with this question: If a certain someone were to host a mini themed game, would people prefer vanilla, or role madness? Also would people prefer normal roles: https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Category:Normal_roles Or want that certain someone to come up with their own power roles? Also do people like full reveal? Or no reveal? Similarly, do people like short phases with high activity, or would they prefer longer, more laid-back, phases? All of this is just food for thought, but I thought these questions would be helpful to everyone. My last question is probably the most important question since if there was a revival in the club, I'm expecting we'd shift to a much more geriatric set of phases for our games since pretty much all the old heads are adults with "responsibilities" nowadays. Though we don't have to go full mafiascum where day phases last 2 full weeks, (too much time in my fully honest opinion), people could experiment with 4 or 5 day phases which give just enough time because you'd always get at 1 work day on either side of a weekend. A lot of people I know often reserve their weekends for non-mafia activities, so people may want to take that into consideration when planning a game. |

I like original roles if it's an open setup, because you can start theorizing about the new role mechanics and how people might want to utilize them. If closed setup, definitely normal roles. Ideally the host could provide a long list that defines "normal" roles. 3. Depends on the setup, but I mostly prefer full reveal. Makes it more exciting to see the lynch result. Also, gives you something concrete to work with, asides from pure speculations. 4. Hmm.. If it's a mafia game, I prefer Day phases that are 3-5 days long. If it's a misc game without that much discussion, I prefer 1-2 phases that are 1-2 days long. 5. Lol, so true! Where did I find all the time to play mafia in the past? |
