What’s wrong with the subtitles?

Why are the subtitles on Crunchyroll confusing the Holy Kingdom with the Theocracy. The characters are clearly saying ‘sei oukoku’ meaning Holy Kingdom.

Even then it doesn’t make any sense story wise for the Theocracy requesting help from the undead when they are one of the most powerful human countries that throughly despise all non-humans, especially undead. It also doesn’t make sense geographically for the Sorcerer Kingdom to travel through the Re-Estize kingdom to provide aid to the Theocracy since I’m pretty sure E-Rantel borders the Theocracy and the Katze plains and Empire definitely do.

Considering the Holy Kingdom arc will act as a prequel, this must be so confusing for people who don’t read the LN or those who don’t understand Japanese.

I’m a bit behind so I’m only just watching episode 8. I hope this is rectified in further episodes. It doesn’t seem fair for anime only fans to become thoroughly confused and therefore not enjoy the show as much simply because whoever does the subtitles is a total moron.

They use the same subs I'm pretty sure, unless you are referring to previous season or the Funimation blu-ray release.

Well, they didn't. They are still merging, although most of the databases and libraries are merged but not "all", also not as a whole company.

I watch both the sub and dub as they air and the dub actually had it right. Subtitles are fixed now on the Japanese version as well.

As Long as the Sun, the moon, and the Earth exist, everything will be alright.

I'm talking about how some shows will air on two services but have the exact same translator.
Like Shield Hero for example, it had the same exact subs on both Funimation and Crunchyroll.

Yeah, I know what you were talking about, and that's why I said they didn't, it's not the same case. CR is using a fixed one while Funi is still at it, that's all.
