A Certain Magical Index (light novel)
| Been thinking about getting into the index/railgun series and my question is very simple, is it worth it? I'm basically only interested ATM because I think the blond girl is hot af lol but I think the show could be up my alley just hard to tell. |

| In my opinion, not really. Although i only saw the first season and based on that it wasn't great :D hope you will have a better experience if you decide to watch it. |

Different seasons are better than others. The main appeal of this series, to me at least, is the world building. It is a rich and deep universe the characters live in. It all makes sense too being based in either religious lore or science from our own world. |

| For Index, the LNs are much better. The story is really good and spans across 3 series at the moment (OT, NT, GT), but it often gets a bad reputation due to how poorly adapted it was (Seasons 1-2 were decent at best but Season 3 was an absolutely horrible adaptation, all of the best arcs of Old Testament were ruined), which is why it sucks to see the slander the entirety of it gets for how bad of a job the anime did at adapting it. If you really want to watch the anime, that’s fine, but the LNs are much better overall. TLDR: Yes, but no for the anime. For Railgun, you’ll be fine checking out the anime. Season 1 may seem slow but Season 2 and 3 are much better. There probably won’t be any more seasons of Railgun until Index NT gets adapted though from what it seems, but you can take my words with a grain of salt. | I started watching this series because of Misaka, Accelerator and Main dude. I put it on hold for now but I must say that I liked it. |

| This series is kind of stupid as hell. The premise is interesting enough but a lot of it is so dumb and requires such a high level of suspension of disbelief to the point where it kind of feels like it’s insulting your intelligence. That being said, if you can get over that and just go with the flow of things, I think you’ll have a blast. It’s not high art or anything, but it is potentially very entertaining and pretty much all the characters are at least fun in their own respects. I personally only went in because of the good reviews of Railgun T and watched the whole thing straight through in order of release. It wasn’t a wholly pleasant experience for me, but I did think it was worth it in the end. But I also really like tsunderes so, yeh. TLDR: yeah it’s worth it. Question for the group, is it worth watching Index III if I only really went in for Railgun? |

| The blond girl is Shokuhou Misaki. She only appears later in the Index LN, NT Vol 5 with a small appearance. She makes a major appearance in NT Vol 7. Then keeps appearing after NT Vol 11. Index LNs are really long though. A volume is about the double the length of a typical LN Volume. |
| as a huge fan of this franchise, i would totally recommend it, its not for everyone tho. Index 1 and 2 are Bad adaptations but Index 3 is a disaster and you will be lost if you dont pay attention to every single detail (this was my case the first time i watched Toaru and the second time i really tried my best to understand and actually half succeeded). Railgun on the other hand has better animation, better developped characters and is perfectly adapted (with lots of fillers sadly). Im trying to read the light novel now. |

| In my opinion yes, but you should start with Railgun, at least for the first 2 seasons. If possible, you should read the LN of Index. |
