| Even if it was drastic, through that desperate act of mutilation attempt Yoh has made a decission on where his emotions should be aimed at, and who he wants to become in the future. I think the art style has changed in this chapter. It's less detailed than it was in few previous chapters, but on the other hand, it feels more dynamic and vivid, especially on panels close-ups. You can feel the motion and emotions coming from the faces of all characters. It was already well done before, but this chapter has presented a one bar higher quality in this aspect. At least this was the impression I had myself. |
| This is my first time reading a chapter while its being released and oh man all this waiting is gonna kill me because I'm so interested to see where this is going. Yo saying he wanted to "escape boyhood and girlhood together" caught me off-guard, though not completely unexpected I guess. I remember seeing some speculation something like that would happen. (As a side note I think "escape boyhood and girlhood" sounds kind of awkward. Not to be an armchair translator here, but I imagine "escape gender" might flow better) Yo and Kei are also adorable together, that kiss is so cathartic. Hopefully Yui can learn what she did wrong. As for the brown haired girl (hate that I forgot her name because I really like her) hope she's not too hurt by it. Seeing how much this manga has deconstructed so much about love and sex I kind of hope they end up in an open/poly relationship. I even think there's a line from Kei earlier in the series where they say they don't like Yui's form of love because its possessive I think? Don't quote me on that last part. |
| I wonder if this is the end, or close to it. I realize the authors always struggled with they're identity issues, but even still I hope there's a somewhat happy conclusion. |
| Yo and Kei's kiss feels so much more natural as Yo wants to break-free from all his lust desire. |
