LN is the original, it goes way more in depth about story points and general world building, I enjoyed the amount of detail in the LN so I definitely recommend it, I’m also fairly certain the manga is nowhere near caught up to the LN.

The manga leaves out many details, the tone is also light-hearted. The light novel is the source for the anime anyway, so go for it.

i do read books but it just seems weird when you have watched an anime to read it like a story afterwards and have to imagine the fights but if the ln is so much better i will give it a shot

depends on what you like more. LN is more indepth about stuff and there's more of it so i recommend that, but manga has some good art too. in the end, it's up to you.

It’s either the anime or the novel. Manga was never an option.

Manga adaptations of light novels, in general, tend to be very bad and tone-deaf.

The manga is only to about book 10 of the light novel (there are 23 out in English)

Of course LN because manga updates very slowly and they remove some arc in between but LN gives more info with better expression of story.

I listened to stuff that was uploaded on TY but only like small parts of the LNs, I didn't listen to the whole series in audio form

the YTer is called NatalieXHunter but the stuff she read out was extra material books that you'd have to have finished the main LN series before starting

Keep this in mind, manga adaptations of light novels are really bad in the huge majority of cases. Maybe one of the few exceptions is monogatari.

100% READ THE LIGHT NOVEL!!! typically light novels tends to be the best sources anyways. i’m on volume 13 right now and it’s a great read fs

actually for mushoku, isn’t the light novel based on a web novel? i think i heard that somewhere before that there was a web novel but the LN took a different path

My friend was only reading the manga and it got him the impression that MT is kinda trash. As I had both watched the anime and read the LN I wanted to know what he didn't like.
From our discussion I realized that all of the bad things he was pointing out (literally all of them) were exclusive to manga and were in neither anime nor the LN.
It's almost like the manga purposefully exaggerates the worst moments of the series and downplays the good ones. Not to mention it completely skips one the most crucial volumes of the story (not chapters, an entire volume!!!). The manga totally misses the point of certain conversations which makes several things contradictory and illogical.

I recommend you read the LN.

well I say watch the season 1 then continue from Vol.7 of light novel or watch till Season 2 ep.4 then continue from Vol.8. Well I'd say the latter is better.

I read the first chapter of the manga and immediately dropped it. The paneling sucks and they skip across large sections of the beginning to get to the first waifu introduction. That’s so not the point that I’m not confident the people adapting it really understood what the original work was saying.

The LN isn’t as good as the first season, there are unnecessary tracts of exposition in volume 1 that the anime cut for time. It’s still great though, you should read it over the manga.

I would highly recommend the light novel I am on volume 23 but I have not read the manga so can't say too much on that but to what the cover art shows and the bits and pieces I have seen on the wiki It has not grabbed me and I did not like the change in artstyle that it shown.

the LN is more detailed in regards to what characters are thinking/feeling and it covers more intimate details, also the LN is completed where as the manga is still ongoing. I read both and the manga is a solid adaptation covering all the important story beats so you can get all you need from the manga but you will be waiting for the story to come to a conclusion for quite some time.
