I would buy and use a standard persocom as they are simply household appliances. But relationships? Got to be human. Of course a Chobits series persocom is a thing in itself, but the age issue and lack of life experience makes a Chobits very childlike and therefore not for a romantic relationship. I could love one the way I love my children probably, but definitely nothing intimate.

I’d have to vote I don’t know, if I pick human I’m marrying someone who will hate me after 10 years of being married, probably use up half my salary, and rob me before divorcing me. But if I pick persocom I’m dating a robot that’ll always love me and not do those things, except I’m not sure if I’d feel comfortable with dating a robot

If Wolfram's theory that reality behaves like a computer is true, humans would be conscious biorobots, and taking into account the functions that a person and a persocon can perform, if both had consciousness, deciding on one or the other could be a choice based on factors to take into account according to what you were already looking for in a person but you find it in a persocon. The issue would be that a conscious persocon would not want to be a slave and would make their own decisions and learning processes that could make them more intellectual and aspirational than the average person. If the persocon were not endowed with consciousness, it could produce an existential void and depression in the person who bought it, if they fell in love.
