Idk...

Half of the season was just this play being read, as someone else said the premise to improve Aoi's life hasn't been explored ("a younger sisteelr maybe died? let's stop and forget about it.").
Also making Mimimi, the eternal No.2 miss out on being special again, even though MC realized that he didn't really like Fuuka during the fireworks last season?

I thought the setup was quite good for Tomozaki and Mimimi to become a unlikely, but well fitting couple.

Apart from my 'ship sinking this season was very bland and didn't explore the core premise at all. How about people finding out about his gaming skills?? Or maybe someone finds his "goals" in the sewing room?
What about Aoi and their almost-kiss at the camping trip?

But no, a play it is and "mood swings" in the classroom.

Loved it!
Kikuchi is obviously the best choice. Mimimi is a cool girl but they don't have much in common.
And thanks God it's not Hinami that would feel forced.

Caught up with this season... count me in as part of the salty Mimimi fanclub.

I was bored when they were narrating the play but I get what they were going for. Not a source material reader but they gotta get to Aoi sometime soon right?

Everything Kikuchi has done until now has led to this moment... Let's see the play!

In a garden dwells the young girl Chris, alongside Libra, the locksmith's boy, and Princess Althea's story revolving around a dragon. The curtains rise on the stage production The Way I Don't Know How to Fly, crafted by the entire class. As the audience is drawn into the tale of self-reflection and personal choices, they are soon captivated. Eventually, as the story reaches its climax, the applause from Tomozaki's, about to clap, abruptly ceases. A scene unknown to Tomozaki begins: A Letter from Chris. For Tomozaki, it is nothing but a message from Kikuchi.

Natsubayashi and Mizusawa aren't great at acting, but Hinami always nails it. No surprise there; she practically lives her roles every day. Sorry, Minami bros, but Kikuchi is the original best girl. You didn't stand a chance. Lol. Even though Kikuchi suggested Tomozaki should be with Hinami, he still confesses to her. It's funny how little has changed between Tomozaki and Kikuchi now that they're a couple.

Tomozaki has made his choice, and it's none other than Fuuka Kikuchi. He's done it. He completed the task of getting a girlfriend. And as for his next task, lose his virginity.

This season wasn't as good as the first, but it wasn't bad either. It mainly showed how much Tomozaki has grown, and boy, has he grown a lot.
@IzanaSolos this season was so FUCKING BORING

I don't even know what to think... Part of me think that this season was really well-written. The ending is in a way excellent, Kikuchi is well-written and I was not excpecting this ending at all. Honestly I have a hard time taking it. Because even though I liked how Kikuchi was written, I feel like she is the worst choice. I mean yes she helped Tomozaki a few times and whas here to listen to his problem, but it doesn't look like she did something in particular to earn his love. He just suddenly decides to pick her out of the blue, which was really disappointing as I think that Mimimi was the best choice here. I have a hard time believing Tomozaki when he's saying he loves Fuuka but well... I guess we just have to do it. From an author perspective, I kind uderstand what he's trying to do. And it makes perfect sense with how the story is going, Tomozaki's goal and development.

Generally speaking, I hate harem stuff, espacially because 99% of the time, we already know that the MC will be going out with the main heroine. Therefore all other girls are meaningless. I guess this serie won't be different. I suppose (and god I hope) that Tomozaki will be going out with Aoi in the end. So it's kind of making me angry to see him with another girl... But it makes sense. It makes total sense as having a girlfriend is one of his goal. And it's original, because we can see him going out with another girl, as it happens a lot in real life so I shouldn't be complaining. I also think that it will be easier to make Tomozaki grow and to missions from Aoi with Kikuchi, as she too has a lot to learn, probably more than Mimimi. But even though she is well written, Kikuchi is still a plain character. I don't really like her and she's by far the most uninteresting girl in the serie...

And we didn't learn much about Aoi this season, which is kind of a shame. To think that Kikuchi will be taking so much screen time, even though Aoi is a thousand times better than her... I don't know what to think. Again, well written, original and goes well whith what the story tells but still...

Anyway, this ending left me really conflicted. LN readers, please ease my sufferings and tell me (without spoilers) that Kikuchi will just be a way for Tomozaki to grow, before setting him up again on the right path, which is Aoi... And please tell me that at least we'll find a way to believe that Tomozaki loves Kikuchi, because again, his confession seems totally out of the blue, I just don't believe it at all..

what was that accessory task that aoi was talking about? how did tomozaki complete it, it was never shown in anime ?
@ParagMittal Someone further down commented that it was the flower bracelets in her story. That's bogus as all hell.

Fuka's "victory" as the girl that tomozaki chose felt bad, really bad.

It didn't feel like she did much to compete and mimimi just quit after realizing she liked him and decided to not follow up on it.

But every thing felt so out of place, rushed and not connected, maybe I am wrong but I don't think Fuka said to him before that she liked him and suddenly she can't allow herself to be with him?
Maybe I am wrong and didn't listen to all the details but Tomozaki picking Fuka felt like the biggest stretch to pick her and way too forced

First Season was great with endless enjoyment! This season tho ..... It fell off. 6/10 I hated Fuka, her voice was unbearable to listen to and Minami was definitely a better choice

So in the end, bottom-tier guy chooses the bottom-tier girl. Well this was already foreshadowed from the previous episode.

“There are two kinds of arrogance. One where you are unequal to the task and one where your dreams are too big. The former is commonplace stupidity... but the latter is a rare species that is difficult to find.”

Not that Kikuchi didn't deserve it, but somehow it feels like the non-cannon ending. Aoi had to be the one. I thought once Mimimi was alone on the roof she was out of the race, and then when the ending of the play, kikuchi was out, and I was like "ok so here comes Aoi's confession". I mean, she was there from day 1, and I always felt her commitment to helping him had to be more than just wanting to prove a point. Oh well, it is what it is.

Huge letdown from S1

S2 was great until the play and novel parts, which I found to be extremely boring (I had to skip some parts)

Dude also chose the wrong girl.
