They probably won't announce it for a while since it's bound to be in pre production right now, but it's most probably going to happen.

Or, they just want to capitalize as much as they can on the fans that want to see the rest of the story. In other words, by not giving them a guarantee, they’re compelling them to buy the manga instead. People get antsy when you tell them to wait for something that might not come. This is prolly the most likely.

If they’re gonna make, they should just announce it. You can always build up hype again with trailers later down the line.

according to some insider info i got from people in the anime industry the odds are about 90% that it will receive a 3rd season and yabuta (director) was just spending some well earned holidays before going back. I don't have a source for this since this is all from chats BUT i can tell you that Yabuta is now officially one of MAPPA's main directors and i can't really see him working on anything else
