Ai... why not just let you two share one final romantic moment, and then trust that Yota can deal with the grief and sorrow once you're gone? Every time there's about to be some resolution, it's cruelly ripped away. First, we had the brief moment where the Clerk says Ai can become human. Now, this kiss.
