| ah so this manga is a prequel set a while before the first anime, which would explain why Iczer 2 acts different I guess. Still would much rather read a retelling of the OVA or a original story that focused more on her, since we don't actually see Iczer 1 or much of what made it great in this manga! It ended up being super uneventful and boring, without much to enjoy, even tho the art is great at times. The timeline in the omake at the end was interesting, although kind of sad I guess, since it even shows a desire not to leave it unfinished...but it clearly has been! I wanna say "shame it was cancelled" although even as an Iczer fan I feel like it probably deserved it, so it's more like "shame it wasn't better". The timeline also shows a desire for an "Iczer 4" anime and an anime focusing on an Iczer 2 story, damn those really could've been enjoyable! We ended up getting only Iczelion after Iczer 3, shame, I wonder why they were never made and those plans seemingly abandoned...maybe it just wasn't popular enough to warrant it keep getting continual new anime projects! But I would personally be down for a new Iczer project even in 2024! Feels silly to say maybe in the modern era, I never thought I would see any new news about Iczer, but then I saw they announced a new figure not even that long ago. So people must still care about it a lil at least and an audience could still be there! Iczer 4 in 2024 anyone? lmao. |
