| Wait, so I think the 5 chapter series translated on Mangadex and listed as this is actually a different manga "Legend of Iczer" with an original story? The omake at the end mentions two manga "Golden Warrior Iczer" which is what the description of this MAL entry describes (Mangadex has the same incorrect description too), the prequel focused on Iczer 1, but it also mentions a separate manga with an original story..which I believe is what's uploaded there that I actually read. Maybe it's just the description that's wrong? And that there's no MAL entry yet for the other Manga Golden Warrior that the description describes. Honestly there's very little about this second manga online, nothing on wiki or anything, so there does seem to be confusion here. But "Iczer Densetsu" does indeed translate as "Legend of Iczer" not Golden warrior. The original Golden Warrior Iczer published in 83 before the OVA apparently! But this "Legend of Iczer" is likely the 88 one this entry has as it's date! (the name "Iczer Densetsu" and the date are correct at least) So using the Golden Warrior title as an alternate title for this manga is incorrect, we actually need a second entry for the original manga! & to change the description and remove the golden warrior alt title from this entry I guess? Maybe I should get in a touch with a DB mod to get this cleaned up or something. But I guess a similar thing needs to be done on Mangadex maybe? And I wonder if we can find the Golden Warrior manga, and start some translation efforts on that, if it's untranslated! |

Just added the Golden Warrior version on MD to which the description relates to, but that also isn't the original 83 version. There seem to have been a few different versions released by different artists when I tried to read the Japanese wiki.

| @EterTC yeah but I made this thread because more nuanced changes need to made, this one is currently listed as the source for the anime, whereas that should be changed to Golden Warrior (I believe) whereas this should be changed to a spin off of Golden Warrior once it's added, removing Golden Warrior as an alt title for this manga. the guy above mentioned there's even more series too so I'm not sure where they fit in. |
