I’m working on a mobile app that accesses the API but would like the ability to authenticate a user without showing a webview. Is this possible (officially) currently? Not the end of the world, just makes for a suboptimal UX imo

@plays2 Hey! There are currently no plans for alternative authentication methods. The main reason behind using OAuth is to stop users from supplying their passwords to third parties, compromising the security of their accounts (as was the case for the old API).

Any alternative authentication strategy would cause some friction from a UX point of view. Authorising your application through a web view is usually a one-time action, and I think it's a good compromise.
