| for second time, if you write gag series, you need something people can attached to, not just punchline. improvement but still not great, got few chuckle tho. 6/10. |

| Well, this ending lowkey sucked, but it was to be expected from an axed manga. Honestly, I'm kinda baffled by this one getting cancelled, I think it was really fun and entertaining, but people aren't into parodies, it seems; they'd rather read 47 different exorcist manga that are all essentially the same thing. Well, RIP, twas a good one. |

| Really just plainly not funny enough to maintain itself as a gag manga. The fact that I already love and am interested in Yokai did a lot of the heavy lifting for this series imo. I guess it could kind of ride those coattails for a bit. But no wonder it didn't last very long. Still seeing a Yokai themed series in WSJ was cool as hell. I'd love to see one do better one day. Like delinquent/yanki manga, mecha, soccer/football, vampire they're themes i'd love to see modern iterations of perform well in WSJ, but having the right series actually come along and be able to succeed with those themes is another kettle of fish entirely. But to some extent it makes me root for the series, whether it's delivering or not, as it's a type of manga I'd been wanting to see in WSJ. It actually often hasn't been working out lately when someone makes a modern wsj attempt at those themes, so maybe there are also others like me on the editorial staff thinking "why don't we have a manga like this *", instead of creators out there genuinely thinking "this is the type of manga of i want to make"...but that's all speculation anyway. I can only personally hope that series come along that not only cover those themes, but deliver a quality manga also |
