I hope that the line of this piece of shit will not be pulled all 12 episodes, and yes I agree with the comment above, you can see that chekhov's gun is already hung, I think for Miko, who wants to save her friend, and judging by the opening waifu, although judging by the ending she has more than one.

So the PK is starting after all. It'll be interesting to see what Eita will try to pull now that everyone knows he's an asshole.

I'm also kinda curious whether they'll try to paint him as as gray with his motivation or just go all out asshole. It seems like he might have been bullied (judging from his bullying comments about the manga, that he immediately tried to kill a high school student, and the fact he seems to be a student himself but it's not clear if he goes to school), but regardless of the actual backstory I'm more interested in how it'll be portrayed than what actually happened.

On the other hand, getting rid of the scumbag that is clearly targeting other players is a classic way to get the "good" characters to start considering whether they should keep playing fair once they already got someone killed on purpose, so it'll be fun to see if they go that road, or if they'll keep him as long as possible as the villain.

Definitely looking forward to the rest of this for now
Also glad Kei is joining as a player so I get to see more of her... and of course the rules can't exactly be broken but they can still be changed midway.

(On a side note, the badly programmed law mower Shoggoths are way funnier than they have any right to be)

She should have put more thought into how the shoggoths were made. They just kind of mindlessly go after movement here, making them not very effective as killing machines.

He's convinced enough that he might be able to kill more of them (And what's not to say that others won't turn against each-other?).

@thewiru nah, that's not how groupthink works. he has zero justifications, excuses, or permissible exceptions. murder. is. bad. the #1 BAD in human history. period. no ifs ands or butts about that. murder trumps forcible sex with a person, taking away a person's stuff by force or threat, or beating up fighting injuring a person on purpose. those are the accepted as lesser violations of a humans' rights. war and self-defense and accident are the main ways to permit murder. this is none of those three. he is also the FIRST ONE to do it here in this group with these parameters. if there were other folks doing it all at the same time, he might be found to be the lesser of any other evils done in the group.

just think of a group of people and !hack slash chop! one of them suddenly takes a machete to another group member. then they walk away from the scene proudly crowing they got away with it in full view of the group? that ENTIRE GROUP will instantly and instinctively turn AGAINST the murderer. that's just Sociology 101. one person grossly and obviously without remorse commits the WORST violation a group collectively has. the group will band together against that one person.

@KiliianSleipnir This. Even assuming he's a psychopath that doesn't mind killing people, he should know this. A teamkill of one is not worth the social cost. If he had killed multiple, sure. But for one?

I feel like Nao could have done more to avoid his ultimate fate, it looked like he still had room to move where he was and we know the books could be moved so I'm surprised he didn't try hiding amongst the bookshelfs themselves

@deltahalo241 That is one thing that bugged me. Why not climb up the shelves & keep avoiding them until you run the clock out? Though I guess our traitor might step in at some point.

I really loved this episode. I thought it was really cool. I was wondering, though, who azathoth is. He supposedly sacrificed himself to make the VR game? I wonder if we will meet him later. Either way, I wasn't expecting the killing, tbh and it was a real crazy moment for me, lol. also the scientist lady coming in? what a hype episode I look forward to the next.

@lolmeme69 mhm thumbs up for you! :D additionally, a point i forgot... the mangaka was even useful with ideas, maps, concepts, and sheer presence as a possible decoy as well as barrier builder/compatriot. 'winnowing out the chaff' or 'culling the weak out of the herd' wasn't even an excuse the gamer could have used. heck the poor guy could have been a sacrificial lamb or meat shield at SOME point if the situation got entirely desperate. just because you're in an insane situation doesn't mean you LEAP to 'eating that guy over there'... this isn't that soccer team trapped in a crashed plane on the side of a mountain... just yet.

@KiliianSleipnir I agree. He could have easily slipped away and made it appear Nao had messed up. But instead he stood there gloating and got caught red handed and anyone who trusted him would have to be twice as stupid.

I think I like the OP better than the show itself.

Not that it's the worst, but it's also not great. I'll probably watch it to the end since it's only 25 mins per week, but I'm sad it's probably going to join the ranks of bad horror anime.

Though I guess maybe horror isn't really accurate either lol

Does the PK rule gives double points? Since Eita has 3 points, 1 from killing NAO-KICHI, and 1 from winning the current game. That does not make 3, unless the very first game, the fall guys fest counts as 1 point. Amamura, Kei was a GM, if she is going to turn traitor and 1000 points can affect a god, is she a human that subjugated a god? A god that just got out and actually enjoys the thrill of the game? How do PK count? Technically she sent quite a few people to their death in Fall Guys.

I know Turkiye is not Turkey, but funny how the animes line up airing on the same day.

Adding the PK option makes sense from the Eldrich Gods' perspective. So far the players cooperated against the game. The new rule may create tension and distrust among the remaining players.

I think Eita acts more on impulse and has short term gains in mind. This may comes to bite him in the ass later on.

This is getting dumber and dumber...

The sneering "we live in a society" pro-gamer guy was just embarrassing. The manga guy deserved to die because he wrote a bad ending and a crappy follow-up? An extremely clumsy attempt to make the show edgier and add conflict.

The trap wasn't even very convincing. He built that wall himself, he couldn't build another one or remove it? Why not try climbing up or something?

It's also a missed opportunity to reveal the pro-gamer's betrayal to the others. It would've been fun if he continued to wreak havoc without anyone else realizing it. But no, Miko just immediately finds out he's a bad dude.

And it's extra weird when everyone exits the VR game and just goes home for the day. What? The guy just threw someone into insanity and endangered the entire human race. The others should've immediately jumped him and tied him up or something so that he can't interfere with the game.

That's before we even talk about how much of a goof these Eldritch gods are, how uninteresting the games are and how charmless these characters are.

I wished the episodes were longer for this setting. But that's just my preference.
Definitely am the target audience for Necro. It's surprising at all corners, the Seiyuus are carrying and i already have favourite characters by that point.

The players all fighting over the survival game, and while Miko has to survive with the eccentricities of others, they're really taking it very laid back, as is with Nao-kichi and Eita working like a real team.

However, the true caveat of Eita showing his true colours, adding the Great Old Ones allowing PK, and with the Shoggoth claiming Nao-kichi's life, that's how the GMs love their final climax so much to add more Shoggoths to the mix and add more chaos, which ended up being a blessing in disguise with the machines attacking each other. Kei coming in as a last-minute addition since Eita agreed to a deal with the GMs, and while Tick Tock Man grants her permission to do so, it only adds to the question of how Eita would break their alliance.

Oh well, a decent villain plot to continue the watch, I guess...
