The Director is "Ayumu Watanabe" , He is also directing "Witch Hat Atelier" Which is also coming out in 2026 . Idk how this guy is going to direct two animes in the same year considering WHA Production is completely fucked .
He previously directed "Komi San" and "Zom 100" And both shows had Production Issues ...

( WHA is delayed to 2026 , Source - Sugoilite )


Edit - Uh Apparently he was not the director of Komi and Zom , Well anyways , WHA is still fucked .

Witch Hat Atelier was supposed to come of this year 2025. It just got delayed.

Moreover both the anime have complete different staff members and studio so it's wouldn't be a problem.

Komi san didn't have any production issue. Zom 100 had just like Witch Hat Atelier and both the anime are produced by BUG Flims. I think culprit behind this production issue is BUG Flims not him.

Yes, it did. About half of the anime's episodes - in both seasons - had fully outsourced episodes, and some of them looked really poor.

Watanabe was not involved at all in Zom100, and it's wrong to fault him for either having poor production.

It's much more fault of Hiroaki Kojima, studio founder and CEO of Bugfilms, and the actual director for both series, Kazuki Kawagoe. The studio has already accepted a lot of work in the future, and both of them aim to produce very ambitious productions despite not having the resources to actually keep that level of quality consistently, being a new studio and all.

Why are people complaining about Zom 100 ?
Did I miss something ? I don't remember Zom 100 had any issues + Watanabe directed Summertime Rendering which is more than enough to me to trust him

I think this guy is blowing this issue out of proportion, but Zom 100 absolutely had issues. Pretty much every episode was getting delayed by anywhere from 12 hours to a week, until they had to go completely on hiatus cuz there were no time slots left. The show started in July but the last 3 episodes didn’t come out until the end of December. The quality didn’t turn out terrible I guess, but it had one of the most notoriously horrible production schedules.

@MusashiKarlsefni Yeah, those delays were horrible. But the end result did make up for it. Now if the latest Fate project also does the same thing, all will be forgiven. But I am not holding out hope.. <sigh>

both komi and zom 100 looked amazing, so who cares, even if there are some problems the episodes won't look any worse for it, it may just be delayed a bit.

As for WHA , Its most probably getting delayed , There are only 2 months remaining for fall 2025 and the anime still hasn't released any trailer besides that pre animated one , Even when the production is fucked they still Mention the release date / Release season ( Eg - OPM S3 ) .
And Sugoi Is always Right so 😴

@MusashiKarlsefni oh correct, this reminds me of the delay issue that I totally forgot about.

I can say pretty much Zom 100 quality didn't drop at all, and as far as I'm concerned if it's only schedule problems not also quality problems, then it's kind of fine to me.

@derpinat0rz I am not saying that he is a bad director , Its just that The production schedule of WHA is indeed not good . I think akane banashi will be fine tho
