| Shinya might be pushing it himself here. I kinda get they're building a story and rivalry with him and Mudano but yeah, this buildup episode is just fueling the arc. Mudano himself is who he is so I doubt he'll need to be too worried. A cliffhangerish ending again. Man, this anime loves to get spicy with them. |

| the writing kinda betrays itself... when you write battle hardened chars, it makes even less sense when they fall for such traps or are moved to action by students after all the battles and history they supposedly experienced. I haven't seen a four eyes with low IQ before lel. |
| So Mudano was part of the elite when he was in the Battle Squad of Tokyo. Not surprising, after all, he's the strongest character (and my favorite character so far of the show). Nice to know a little bit more of Mudano honestly, it has been 15 episode, but we still don't know a lot about him (and I'm curious why he decided to step out of active duty to start taking classes). Although Jin was trapped in a torture room, the only torture they did to him was throwing a bucket of what, which, just as we see later, was probably a plan from Shinya, so he could get those black bacteria inside Jin (honestly, I didn't say it last episode, but I was wondering why he didn't do that last time). So that's why they didn't kill him. It's a first a Oni gets this close to a Momotarou and doesn't get tortured or killed. I still find it funny how, for the torture, Jin had to be shirtless, because that was really essential for the plan to work out xD I really hope nothing happens to those 2 kids that Jin protected. As usual, the 2 new Momotarou guys only care about battling and killing Oni. Honestly, the anime needs to seriously work on this, it's one of the weakest parts of the story. It's incredible how only Mikado so far has been a "good guy" in the Momotarou. We also get to see those 2 from the Tokyo force in action, and one of them can basically have a 3D radar with him, and the other one can go invisible for 10 minutes. Pretty good abillities for the Reckon unit I suppose. The green-haired guy though felt really useless though. I'm glad we're seeing more of him than just being the "pervert guy" of the group, and I wonder if he will develop as a character after this. Also, Mudano is always looking out for his students, that really wholesome. Funny how everyone calls Shiki a brat, but I mean, the first thing he does when he rescues Jin is making fun of him, so I suppose that checks. I suppose next episode things are going to heat up, and the confrontation between Mikado and Shiki is approaching, and that should be fun to watch. This new arc has been promising, so let's see if that keeps up, and doesn't end like the previous arc, that had some questionable decisions, from a narrative viewpoint. Also, the new opening slaps really hard, that's the truth, it always makes you ready for the episode that is going to be presented. Edit: Forgot to mention, but the new uniforms are quite cool, simple, but cool. Here's also a cool screenshot from Mudano, since he's the GOAT, no doubt.  |
| Momotaro-ian comedy sure can be pretty ...stilted. I can respect the development Yasurobe is getting beyond being Zenitsu with glasses, not to mention getting another glimpse into Mudano's encouraging yet still blunt side. |

| Shinya getting backup from Tsukuyomi's group surely is a conflict in interest, but of course, he's not letting them down with his offer for free. Even the Battle Unit's captain Masumi Yodogawa's policy doesn't give them the free will as backup, given the intel that they're having, especially that the Kanto Nuts Union has Shinya's control from him, and that manpower is really stretched on the Oni side as compared to the Momotaro. As compared to Masumi not wanting the students to engage the local Momotaro, Mudano allowing them to to gain some experience, this is critical when considering the side of the Unit they want to join thereafter and is not a playing matter. Even Shinya trading Tsukuyomi's Unit 20 in dealing with both Shiki and Mudano respectively is also aligned, and the conflict is moving along as planned. Masumi showing off his chops with his 10-minutes lasting invisibility, alongside vice-captain Kaoru in Recon, these two put together is a force to be reckoned with, though Juji has a lot to learn from them. And saving Jin is one thing, but it's safe to say that Shinya has his eyes on everybody, even both Shiki and Mudano. All that lies is the action, and I can't wait to see some. |
