A pretty strong first chapter. Osoegawa is a very gintoki like lead who just wants to be lazy but can't stop himself from helping people in need. I like the silly magic being used creatively for combat.

This exceeded my expectations; I really enjoyed the first chapter. I doubt this will be a big hit because it feels kind of niche so far, but it sure seems fun.

The chapter makes me think of the series as being like RuriDragon except we're on the side of crazy. It's very normal and slice of life, while making these normal things very cozy. However, unlike RuriDragon, which reads like a school slice-of-life most of the time, this series focuses on the magical – the parts where Ruri breaths fire, calls thunder, and more. It emphasizes that magic is subservient to the mundane in this series, which creates an interesting atmosphere that I haven't seen before. Hopefully that made sense.

The art was a surprise to me. The characters' expressions are effective, the action is clear, and the art style itself is solid. The art isn't outstanding, but it is more than enough to get the point across. I also think the characters have potential to be interesting; Osoegawa's antics are already entertaining to watch.

The most important thing for any comedy series is the comedy. I think this chapter didn't lean too far into the jokes so I can't judge it yet, but the jokes we have seen are at least not eye-rolling; they're rather endearing, actually. It's like I'm not sure what the joke is, but the situation itself is amusing to watch. I like it.

I was not expecting to like this at all because comedy battle manga tend to miss on both for me, but I'm somewhat hooked. I'll definitely look forward to more. Hopefully this is executed well in future chapters, since I'm not entirely sure about the formula yet.

oh boy, as a big fan of magic ani-manga i was glad to get another one added to jump.

the thing i feared most when going into this was that it was guna be repetitive with its spells which is usually one of the biggest problems with magic based manga, but that turned out to be one of its is strongest attributes, very satisfied with the creativity of the magic.

Honestly this definitely has some potential it checks most the boxes,(im to lazy to list them) looking forward to more next week.

I like that this kind of has a chiller Gintama vibe to it

Really good first chapter all things considered. Art is very rarely inconsistent but besides that damn near every catagory is good.

Interesting world building, decent power system and most importantly a relatable MC.

Still, after Star of Beethoven I have learnt that an excellent first chapter doesn't mean the story can keep up the quality and after PPP, even with consistent quality you can still get axed so I won't be putting all my eggs into this one. Gonna have to wait and see if it can survive U19 and U50.

Gonron might have been an utter disappointment but this one just brought back some of my hope for this batch. Time to see if the last one of this batch will be worth sacrificing Kaedegami and PPP.

Also, anyone else here know that this had a One Shot back in 2022 :0.

This is one of the best first chapters for a new jump series this year. I hope it can ride the momentum and be a staple of the magazine.

The characters, personalities, and interactions were great. The humor and gags were spot on, the setting is interesting enough, and the plot is setup nicely. Nothing bad to say about the start to this series.

Ok nice start. I think this guy will get along with frieren. She'll definetly want some of those random spells as well. Maybe they can do a spell exchange.
