I always go subbed if available given most companies are ruined by influence of blackrock nowadays. The good thing about raw japanese is that the performances are directly approved by people familiar with source material with far less outside influence to remove anything "offensive."

ragebait? but dubs in general are not what they used to be, most of the dub people wanna butcher the work to make it theirs, heck even text translators do that ALL THE TIME.

Nah I like the voice. The deepness suits her maturity. "aura kill yourself" goes hard.

Yknow humanity could advance 2000 years and people would still whine about dubbed anime. No one cares guys, you need to be telling other dub haters not the general public

Yeah, her voice being lower absolutely sold her age. 200% the right choice.

Not really? Her voice is supposed to be somewhat deep, I mean just listen to both dubs, Frieren has a deeper voice than Fern and most other female characters. The main differences that matter between the 2 are the voice directing more than anything else, and really most of the issues from it are minor. The JP Dub was definitely not without it's own issues either, but for some reason most people can't accept the fact that there isn't a single "better" dub. There's definitely things to complain about with both the EN dub and JP dub. But realistically, the Frieren EN dub is absolutely fine, not ideal for sure, but there's really nothing inherently wrong with it. Watching in the DUB really wont hurt the experience that badly.

English dubbing for anime has come a long way since 20 years ago. Most shows today have a dub that's perfectly watchable, even if not ideal. And the dubs that don't do so well are usually adapting anime that are much harder to translate over to English, due to their contents.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.

If you only speak English then you should watch dub most of the time. Most dubs are good, yall just try and find anything you don’t like about it the dub then say it’s bad. That’s especially corny when you can’t actually understand whether a sub is good or not.

so true, people just love to complain for no reason. sure, it's a different interpretation, but I thought all the dub VAs did a great job. someone said dubs aren't the same as they used to be and they aren't, they're WAY better nowadays. there are just more voice actors nowadays, not the same 10 that are being thrown into every show. people in the west seem to care a lot more about the art of dubbing, particularly because anime is a lot more popular now.

eh, you really can't tell people what to do, mate. I started Frieren sub, saw that the dub was gonna start the next day when I was 5 EPs in iirc. and I restarted it dub and boi am I GLAD I DID. ✌🏾 enjoyed it and loved it.
it's fine if you feel that way about the dub, it's all good. just let people enjoy the dub (for those that/like it). it was peak and I'll be watching s2 dub.

FYI, before some sub elitist comes to blab and act retarded, I watch both sub and dub. πŸ‘πŸΎ I just love dub more and enjoy it more. but if I see a bad/mid dub, I will switch to the sub without a second thought.
but for peak dub? I'm glad, till this very day, that I watched Frieren, Fire Force, MHA, Demon Slayer, Mob Psycho etc all dub.

yeah same, I always start a show in sub nowadays to get an impression of how they're voices should be and then alternate between the two for the first episode or two and then choose from there. a lot of dubs are really good nowadays, and sometimes I appreciate being able to eat whilst watching a show or just appreciate the art style and animation.

I will die on the hill that fairy tails dub is way better than the sub.

I've watched aot in both and adore both.

Haikyu I prefer the sub generally, but the dub is also really solid and the comedic timing of the dub is much more enjoyable for me.

bunny girl senpai is way better in sub.

there's loads of examples off the top of my head, it's all about preference at the end of the day but I wish people would just be able to enjoy shows in peace without sub glazers trying to legitimize the fact that people who watch dub are somehow "watching a different show".

holy cook. a sensible person that gets it. thank you, my man. honestly, being a sub elitist when 2025 is ending is just so pathetic. they be talking about how dub watchers/lovers are watching a different show. lmfao. so lame.
