so ye there is a saying when in rome do as the romans do and it applies to immigrants like the sumerians they should not force their culture of worshiping and protecting cursed spirits aka kalyans in their world

meanwhile japan has a culture of killing cursed spirits because they can be very harmful to earthlings

so which side are you? if you vote the sumerians can you defend it on the comments and predict the likely outcome of this conflict

Both are in the wrong here. Those aliens shouldn't force their culture when emigrating, but the japanese government deliberately hiding information that later would lead to missunderstandings is imo even worse

Both are wrong and both are right at the same time to be completely honest, I don’t think there’s any “right” side here.
The earthlings are hiding information and the simurians are pushing their culture and it’s like both of them want “peace” through their own terms and their own terms alone.
Although a clear solution is non existent, like, say the simurians do get Tokyo and all, it’s just a matter of time until a cursed spirit leaves Tokyo or manifests outside of Tokyo and kills a human. Exorcising cursed spirits is literally a way to keep Japan safe for humans, its self defence in a way.
There’s just no clean way I can think of that allows the Simurians to get their demands of keeping cursed spirits protected while also making sure humans are protected.
