Crunchyroll is streaming this season on Thursdays, three days before the Japanese TV broadcast.

Episode 25

When the second season ended, Kanata was falling back in the field due to an elbow injury he sustained when he saved Ren from being hit by a train. The commentators and other teams still believe Kanata's problems are technical issues, related to his car, but Ren's father is beginning to realize that's not the case. Meanwhile, Sena Moroboshi slowly inches his way up the pack, advancing to fifth place. But just as Kanata in ninth is about to be passed again, he manages to use second gear, which he couldn't before then due to his injury, and he fights off the passer. Somehow, Kanata is not feeling any pain in his elbow anymore, and this makes him determined to make a major comeback.

Let's see why I skipped the first season.

Oh, yes, I can't pay attention to the car racing, and the car racing takes up most of the show. Skip again.

Episode 26

As Kanata begins lap four, he quickly jumps from ninth to seventh in the window of a few seconds. Meanwhile, Shun Aiba passes both Kakeru Yashio and Nozomi Kitahara at the same time in a tunnel to take eleventh place. Up in front, Kaito Akaba in third is slowly inching towards the two leaders, while Sena tries but fails to get past Fujin Ishigami in an attempt to advance to fourth. Kanata eventually makes it behind Sena, and Sena has to focus on blocking him. But despite Sena's best efforts, Kanata passes him in a winding downhill section. Sena's now wondering what Kanata will do to get past Fujin.

Episode 27

Kanata passes Fujin at a hairpin to get up to fourth place, and the lead cars begin their fifth and final lap. In the tunnels, Koki allows Kaito to pass him so he can get behind him, and the two draft together to pass Michael. A few places back, Sena imitates Kanata's maneuver and finally passes Fujin. As for Kanata, he's inching his way up to the lead pack. In a downhill section, Koki makes his move to pass Kaito, and Michael, who was waiting for that, passes Kaito soon after. Then Kanata comes up to pass Kaito and reach the position he started the race in. However, Kanata has noticed his car starting to understeer, most likely since when he passed Fujin. He ends up using another trick he learned from his mentor to pass Michael and reach second place, but can he hold the line?

Episode 28

Michael goes side by side with Kanata over three corners before ultimately passing him, and the front tires on Kanata's car continue to lose grip on the road. But Kanata manages to make one last push as Michael makes his move for the lead. Kanata gets behind Michael, and they both pass Koki in succession. Michael wins the race, while Kanata takes second. Meanwhile, Shun makes a crazy last-minute pass of his own at an unexpected turn, overtaking Yudai Sakamoto to finish tenth.

Kanata has no preference on which of the race girls kisses him, so Kyoko plays wingman and pulls some strings so Ren is the one to do so. When Ren talks to him, Kanata is genuinely shocked. Naturally, Shun is jealous, but he manages to get Ren's name from another of her coworkers. The pain in Kanata's elbow returns, so Ogata takes him to a doctor, who tells him it's a serious bruise, but nothing is broken. Meanwhile, Koki considers switching to another car for the next race, and his girlfriend calls asking if they can go out. The next race is in forty days, so Kanata will have some time to ponder what to do about his relationship with Ren.

While Ogata and Okuyama talk about improvements for the next race, Ren brings Kanata to her grandmother's house in the countryside. Episode 30

Ren sets up a beach outing with Kanata, but her father soon brings some sad news: Kanata's father Ken passed away a month prior. Kanata and Ren travel to Gunma to meet with Ken's sister, Kaede. She tells them about Ken's work making Buddha figures, and that he didn't try contacting Kanata because he wouldn't know what to say. Kaede then mentions that Ken actually died during the most recent race, and the timing happens to be when the pain in Kanata's elbow went away, making Kanata believe his father helped him make his comeback from beyond the grave.

Meanwhile, Sena's mentor takes him on a nighttime drive while telling him to keep his eyes closed so he can feel how the car moves, and Sena is stunned by the intensity. Elsewhere, Michael is upset despite winning the race because he expected a boring and predictable outcome. As for Ren, she considers cancelling her beach outing after hearing about Kanata's father's death, but her mother suggests going for it anyway.

Episode 31

Kanata invited Ogata on Ren's beach outing, and when Ogata tells Shun about it, Shun decides to come along as well. When Shun sees Ren in her swimsuit, he immediately identifies her as his race girl crush, and when he takes Kanata someplace where they can talk in private, he ends up slugging Kanata in the face. Later, one of Kanata's classmates from his racing school in England, Emma Greene, shows up, as she's going to be taking part in the next race. Emma meets Kanata and Ren for lunch, and Emma tells him that she's very disappointed about him taking a break from racing after his mother died. Ren could barely get in a word edgewise.

Episode 32

After Kanata and Ren see some fireworks at the end of summer, it's time for qualifying for the fourth race of the season. Kanata passes by Nozomi and Kakeru while on his test drive after his car gets upgraded for the race, and everyone's fired up for the coming week. Koki eclipses the previous qualifying record on day 1, and few drivers come close to beating it so far. Kanata calls Shun and tells him that he does indeed have feelings for Ren, and Shun replies that they're still friends regardless of their new romantic rivalry. But meanwhile, Ren's friends tell her that it's possible Kanata might be leaving Japan after the race season ends, and she starts to panic, believing she might never see him again.
