Either Flamme showed her how or she found it in one of the many magic books she found over the years given that she’s like over 1000 years.

There’s also her mana as shown vs aura which I think is an indication of how strong she is but probably not a strong as Serie

@Mattinator95 ye most likely one of the magic books she found while traveling its just funny to think maybe frieren has big arm muscles that she hides with magic or as you said she converts her mana to arm power

I would love it if the explanation was that she has a Grimoire that can hold an infinite number of items and objects that she wants to carry.

@ReMightyRon agreed i hope the manga explains it in the future more on how it works and its origin

I was also wondering about that suitcase, so far I assumed it's just a normal suitcase and they just don't take a lot of stuff with them and travel lightly.
But it seems to be magical in some way according to the last episode, I hope we'll get the backstory why that is eventually.

@deg The funniest part of yesterday's episode is precisely that scene where Frieren is sleeping under a pile of various magical items, lol.

@ReMightyRon for sure and those pile of magical items will definitely be carried by that magical briefcase

I'd assume she has a spell to levitate the stuff inside.

I took it to be a parody of fantasy RPGs. Video game characters can often carry a massive amount of stuff with no logical explanation. A joke like this would not be out of place in Frieren. All of the food being oversized is a similar idea.

Might also be „bag of holding“ adjacent.

No official explanation I think but safe to say it's one of her presumably hundreds if not thousands of magical items. Horder Baba

@LoopsAreReady true it really might be inspired by video game mechanics like that

There's a story in One Thousand and One Nights that has a similar concept, if I'm not mistaken, it was some sort of pot that you carry, and whatever you wish - food-wise - you just reach into it and pull the dish/food you thought about.
Does that mean you're carrying all types of food ever created? I don't think so.
I think Frieren's briefcase might follow the same concept, if she needs sth (or when she unpacks), it materialises.

I personally think whatever she puts in there just "vanishes" until she needs it again. Kinda like Fern and Frieren do with their staffs, maybe the briefcase can do for other items

Frieren doesn't need to be strong at all. She just sends everything to a pocket dimension inside the briefcase. Fern has done the same thing with her staff. In some of episodes right before combat she has nothing in her hands then suddenly a staff appears before her to use.

I think it's actually inspired by the bag of holding from DnD. Basically a pocket dimension where you can store lots and lots of stuff without needing to worry about space or weight

@NaoKurobane pocket dimension is another good explanation for it

Has someone else tried to lift it so we see that it's heavy? I don't remember.

Frieren could have used a spell to make heavy things lighter or the item itself, being magical might be able to reduce mass in addition to its ability to pack more volume than it takes up.
