So what does everyone think so far?

I personally liked El Dorado, but I doubt that the rest of the album will sound so rocky, since the huge length makes me imagine more of an extended epic like AMOLAD. The song was very enjoyable overall, but Bruce is obviously wearing down now. He's straining a bit in the chorus and he isn't holding many notes anymore. Nevertheless though, he still sounds cool and gets the job done. Solos were good, the beat was classic, and the riffs were very solid, and overall it gets me excited for the Final Frontier.

at first i was did not know what to think it's completely different style from what IM was before. first thought i made up after listening first part of the song was that Bruce singing reminds me his solo carrier (Chemical weeding), heavy riffs are good but hm... something is missing even though after second listening I liked the song still they play little different form IM style wheres IM melodic riffs and other stuff we love?
and Yeah as Metal_Ganado said length of the songs amazes me, will we get epic album
with long good songs? i dunno but I believe in Iron maiden
btw I liked very much AOLAD so I thing this long play shall kick some asses as well.
Overall rating: good song makes me pretty exited and i want to listen whole album

Up the Irons!

El dorado's not my type but I got the feeling that IM fans who are into Death metal or fans who love the 80s era might appreciate it more.

As for Final Frontier, catchy chorus and riff. I saw the video and I must say that its one of the better maiden videos. I normally hate their videos, and I think they really ruin the songs. Like Wasting love, Wicker man (got eyesore after the third time I saw it), Rainmaker (random virgin dancing, seriously?) and Brigher than a thousand suns (which somehow didn't come right although the concept of the video was right). I know this is just a personal opinion, I'm a HUGE fan of the band, but I think their videos dont live up to the quality of their songs, unless they are done live like 'Aces High', which I've seen a million times. But FInal Frontier had an awesome vid. Nice animation and all.

I'm not comparing them at all. I've been around internet forums long enough to figure out that there different types of IM fans. The death metal i.e IM fans who love and praise death metal have a certain bias towards 80s era Iron Maiden. Ofcourse not all 80s era fans are death metal fans. But a lot of these death metal fans who also listen to Iron Maiden tend to like a certain style by Iron Maiden, which was stronger in their first decade albums. I just felt El Dorado might be that sort of a song.

El Dorado is ok, a little boring maybe when comparing to Maiden's standards, but the rest of the album is eargasmic! :D

wtf!!! I downloaded the album today and excuse me for being a loyal maiden fan for 23 years but its sucks!!! really! At the intros of a few songs I taste some maiden spirit but nothing more. how can they say this is the best ever!!!! I dont want my maiden to be a popular shit. they were the only band standing for heavy metal back then but now they seem to be lacking of traditional rhythm. I hope they dont seperate and continue with a new great album.

you're right actually..this is easily one of their weakest albums. Among my 3 least fav Iron Maiden albums. Kinda disappointing considering how their last three albums were masterpieces on an epic level, and easily among their top 5 albums. They were at their most consistent in terms of quality as well as creativity from BNW to AMLOAD, dunno how this happened. Maybe the constant 4 year touring took its toll on them, I dont know...
