Ok, my first 5/5 here :D
(It's still like +1-2 points due to my fondness)

Animation, dialogues, plot are really crap, but it's more than good for 198x year-anime :>

The plot is really revealing itself, and the series is at its most interesting part right now! I wonder how many and which heroes will end up with Gold Cloths!

Still, Shaina is an annoying character, argh.

I didn't see this coming. I mean, I expected Seiya to get the Sagittarious Cloth but not so soon.
I really like the plot now and Aiolia is an interesting character. <3

The same. It's like suddenly major huge upgrade. And what about poor Pegasus cloth now? That damn gold cloth took it's place.

Aioria is a great dude, he reminds me of Misty in that both felt like how I think Saints should feel like in my mind. Others like Argol, or Babel to some extent were fine, but Aioria and Misty really feel like saints who are all about justice and had a lot of humanization going on for them. Even if Misty was a bit narcissistic, both were following orders and were tricked that they were really doing the right thing, something a lot of these bad guys don't have going for them. For that I'm a huge fan of Aioria so far. Another comparison is that both wanted to take Seiya out in one clean hit without any suffering iirc.

When he let Seiya strike him and then offered to let him live today and heal up before trying to leave and help Shaina rather than kill her was what sold him to me. He's so morally gray, he has a sense of honor and consideration, but he clearly won't let Seiya survive and he'll follow his job, he won't even stop the Silver Saints from beating him up! I think this was the first enemy saint apart from Ikki we saw a real backstory from and got real motives for. All of this seems to point towards him joining the good guys and realizing his brother was right all along.

I laughed when Seiya exclaimed "You can circle the earth seven and a half times a second!". It sounds so goofy like that, I think it should've been solely the following line calling it the speed of light. Something interesting about this is that this was the first real time Seiya looked absolutely hopeless, I was wondering when a time like this would come up. I think this as fast as light line may come back to bite the anime in the future when the gold saints can't reach something in time.

And about the gold armor flying to him, it's clearly been set in stone the armors are connected to cosmos and Seiya has a gold level cosmos and probably a mix of him and Athena called it to him, but I'm still not a fan of it. It did make me realize that Saint Seiya's fighting is sometimes really great, often when it doesn't revolve around Seiya, and when it revolves around Seiya it plays off like a more concise, slightly more defined Yuyu Hakusho in terms of the fighting system.

Finally, can we not pretend all of Seiya's bones are fine, he was already weak and without armor when three saints, one being the strongest silver saint, beat the living snot out of him. We've seen less happen to him and heard stuff like his ribs were broken. The three stooges were trying to keep him alive and really hurt him for revenge but that still doesn't mean he should be fine. Very ridiculous for him to just start walking around after he gets that armor on unless armor can fix broken bones and internal bleeding.

Fucking hell, the escalation jumped through the roof. Going from Mach 2-3 to light speed.

DBZ has nothing on Saint Seiya, and I am loving it!

Damn, I don't remember Seiya wearing the gold cloth so soon at all. A very welcome surprise.

the animation quality seemed noticeably bad in this ep?

weird that they give Seiya the gold cloth here, but it still seems insanely filler-y? I assume gold cloth Seiya is canon, so did they just give it to him early in filler? lool. Idunno seems confusing anyway. I'll read the manga one day so maybe then I'll understand what happened here haha

WHOA!!! Is this the OG Super Saiyan transformation moment?! Seiya acquiring the Gold Sagittarius Cloth was epic! Shaina expressing her love and protecting him from Aiolia too! WOW! And Aiolia himself is a really interesting, honorable character. I hope he sticks around!

The speech about the Golden Speed Limit was insane though (and kind of awesomely insane). This was some fever dream stuff LOL!

Kindas funny how they showed Seiya remove Shaina's mask in like the first episode and she swears revenge for that but then by the time she gets round to it they came up with another earlier time where he also saw her mask and that was what she's actually been mad/weirdly conflicted about this whole time. Also, didn't Seiya kill her sister? I'm guessing that must've been filler or it wasn't her actual blood relative. It super contradicts with this whole "I refuse to harm women, including trained female saints who are more experienced fighters than myself" thing.

The gold cloth dissappearing only to randomly decide to come back and give itself to Seiya was cool and something I think everyone was waiting to happen which is why it's so weird that it happens when it does, kind of out of the blue. Seiya's been in worse situations than that and no armour ever decided to magically equip itself to him then but whatever it was still cool, maybe the others will get upgrades too.

Speaking of the others, I can't be the only one that finds it weird that despite the opening theme prominently featuring the other bronze saints the show itself whittled them down to 5 members within the first 6 or so episodes and then literally never mentions them again? We got the steel saints who showed up out of nowhere and they nestled into the operation relatively well, I was under the impression that Saori had command over all the bronze saints we saw at the tournament but maybe I was wrong. There was that one guy who seemed to have a rivalry with Seiya but I can't even remember his name he's been gone so long.
