| I've been watching this on Funimation and on another fansub site comparing the two. There are subtle differences in the subtitles but the meanings are pretty much the same. I'm not fluent in Japanese in any sense of the word so I was curious in episode 5 if anyone knew which translation was more accurate for the three second-year's names. At around 12:55 they introduce themselves: Audrey Duval = Slice-and-Dice Maiden or Cruel Maiden Aika Takeuchi = "Intoxicating Bondage" or The Bloodless Tris McKenzie = "Twin Fang" or Mirage Fang On a side note, while there is a lot of censoring in the Funimation version their quality appears to be decent, better than on the fansub site I've watched. |

| Based on the few fansub eps that I saw and the comments/reviews I read, I can say that Funimation's subs were the best you can do for this show. I did not notice any TL inaccuracies, awkward lines, or significant technical errors. The only thing that might be an issue for some is the localization... "senpai" is not used, and is often substituted with "Ma'am." So you get a lot of lines like "Satellizer, Ma'am" and such. Honestly, Funi would've been better off just using the names + Miss or something. I just wonder why HorribleSubs didn't cover the Funi streams at all. |
