This is such a cool little thread. It’s so weird to see all the bands you all were mentioning 15 years ago that I’ve never even heard of. So many great reccomendations like Gorod, Origin, Zyklon, Neuraxis, like holy shit these bands are incredible (and all tech death, that must’ve been booming in the late 2000s lmao)
My favorite death metal band has always Bloodbath, they are so camp and fun and have so much groove, and just in general are great songwriters, Opeth is my all time favorite band so for me anything Mikael touches is gold. But I also love Dismember, Immolation, Nile (I’m suprised none of you mentioned them),Vertebra Atlantis, Gojira, Bolt Thrower, Gatecreeper, Death, Suffering Hour, Morbid Angel Zhrine, CC, Exhumed, Carcass, Necrophagist, Intestine Baalism.
