| Seems like I will be the first to put my ideas. I don't think I'm really original, but here goes. After Light's death, Ryuk retrieves the Death Note that Near is planning to destroy and kills him. He then gives it to Sayu, Light's little sister. Not knowing what to do with the Death Note, she just kept it in her desk without ever using it. One day, when she was taking a shower, her boyfriend clean up her room, and found the Death Note. He got interested by the Note, so he decided to steal it. He made a fake one and put it back in Sayu's desk. And then, he began to pass judgement on criminals. He doesn't want to catch everyone's attention, so he tries to leave no clue. But, since the criminality has considerably increased, it will be two slow if he tried to kill criminals at an irregular rythm. So, he has no choice but to follow Light's path. And like his predecessor, he will be rivaled by the world best detective, R(L's cousin, my idea). If you have any questions, then just ask. | heres mine =D After Light dies, Ryku goes back to the shinigami world but years later he discovers that many pieces of the note book it missing, he goes back to Earth to discover it is still under the watchful eye of Kira. The police never told everyone that Kira is dead, But someone is using, the death note paper to pass judgement, since crime has decreased so much those pieces are enough for the current Kira, Ryku discovers that the person doing it is a Highschool boy named Itichi, the smartest person in the school. A new adventure unfolds when Ryku give him the Death note and the eyes. And so he is a unstoppable force. Near once again makes it his job to find "Future Kira" and try to end this once and for all. But since so much is already known about the Death note and japan that he moves to america where crimes on the street are more common there he contiues to kill and getting attention of the SPK in no time. |

| I'm not a very creative person in writing, but I'll throw out my raw ideas. I think that the focus would be on Ryuk, and since his obligation to Light is over, he returns to the Land of the Shinigami. However, he still feels that his world is rotting, and takes steps to try and return meaning to the existence of the shinigami. He would tell about Light and some of the interesting things he saw while among humans. Eventually, Ryuk would take some shinigami back to the Human World to see what he's been talking about. Ryuk finds a new host, a Kira supporter, who has the capacity to competently fill the role of Kira. Where things go from there, I'm not sure. Please give me any thoughts you have about this. |

Who also thinks the anime sucks after L dies :P? I think the anime should have ended after that. This would be the best ending in my opinion: Light wins when L dies -> Light Rules the world -> No more Crime And when Light dies, he would become a shinigami (so he keeps his notebook) and keeps passing his judgement (if that would be possible) idk of there are rules against it. I think there only was one rule: a shinigami only dies if he tries to save someone. |

| hmm this sounds fun, idk how this will turn out but... ryuk returns to shinigami world and tells others about the human world. that fat shinigami, (from the deathnote extra who gave it to that guy who killed himself after near calld him a fool) goes by earth again 3 yrs later and this time delivers to that artistic girl from the wammy's house who became a heavy kira supporter after some traumatic experiences. Due to her good memory she still remember near's face, but does not know his name. Wishing Kira back to the world, through that fat shinigami the artsy girl finds a way to bring the dead back into her mind and how shinigami are born. She learns if ryuk, who killed Light is killed (not by suicide) the last one to use his deatnote will receive his place. Because Light was killed by a shinigami, Light cannot be called. So the girl calls Mikami teru instead into her mind, whom must feed on extra person everyday to stay in her mind. Now Mikami and the girl tries to find a way to kill ryuk secretly and quickly, so Light can take over ryuk's body. While Near and other detectives starts to investigate the reason why people are going missing. This eventually forces the girl to start using deathnote for those who get too close to finding out the truth. But this also cause trail of clues to appear for Near to investigate. |

Here is the truth:  Did you really think that Mikami would be stupid enough to go and get the real death note when he knew he was being followed. That was just the censored version. |
