One Piece - A great and long adventure anime, about a teenager who is going on a journey to find a great treasure and to become the pirate king. On his way he picks up a lot of comrades of all shapes and sizes who are traveling with him not only for their own dream but to help him with his dream. The world is completely new and everything is fantasy, you can consider the whole world to be a fairy tail with the most artistic islands and creatures. It is a battle anime and has every character in the main crew fight at times, with every member having their own way to fight. And the crew are so great there is so much uniquness among them, there are as much people who like the crew members as there are people who like the main character. It is an anime that I would recommend to anyone who wants a great adventure in a fantasy world.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - An anime about two brothers who are trying to get their bodies back after losing them in an accident. And the only way they believe they can get their body back is by finding a philosophers stone. The anime started out as their mission to find one and eventually turned into a grand adventure to save their country from a group of Homonculus(or artificially created humans). One of only a couple of anime that I would call epic, the characters, their voices, the animation, and sound all fit together, and you will find yourself crying at people's deaths that you may have hated. Their voices when in a normal setting is ok, but when it starts to get serious it is great, you can hear all of their emotions and find yourself more into the story as an effect of it. Overall I would recommend this to anybody who wants a great story set in a slightly older setting about two brothers trying to get back what they have lost.
Natsume Yujinchou - An anime about a teenager who is given a book that was his grandmother's. It turns out that his grandmother used to fight demons, trick them, ask them, challenge them to games, in order to get their names, and with a demon's written name if you burn the paper you can kill them but you can also summon and control them. This anime is all about the small usually heartwarming situations that he gets himself into, usually about a demon or a human asking him to help them with a problem. The story might be about the past, a demon who fell in love with a human and they talked a lot but he eventually became unable to see or hear her. Almost each episode ends with him giving a demon back their name and seeing a little of their memories of when they gave up their name, it gives him a look at what kind of a person his grandmother was. I recommend this to anyone who wants a slow, mostly episodic and heartwarming stories.
Initial D - An anime about a teenager who delivers tofu for his dad, unknown to him his father has been teaching him how to drive and drift through the car. Who unknowingly passes a well known street racer while making his delivers, and hurts his pride bad enough so that he challenges him to another, in front of a whole bunch of people. After that it goes onto seeing all of his other problems that are going on in his life, and how he balances that and street racing. You get to see him as he matures as a driver and as a person, facing all kinds of people and cars, making friends and enemies. I recommend this to anyone who wants an anime where the main character is always underestimated and ends up making them eat their words. You don't even have to like cars to like this anime but it does make it more enjoyable. |
