How can it be so sad dammit. I do not remember this episode from the one I watched as a child. maybe they removed it

At first I was like "what the fuck is this they are going to dramatize romance in a show with kids as main protagonists ?".. But I am glad they didn't went that route, Takuya and Minoru know nothing about Koji's tragedy, this is just a sad side story of a side character ...
But honestly though, I think Koji was a persistent stalker, he still went after the girl even after she said that she didn't like him anymore and worse he slapped the girl in public ...

That was a dumb excuse to not finish that story.... I don't know if the guy is a maniac or just your usual passionate anime guy, but she wasn't exactly better since she was giving him hope for 20 YEARS by continuing the relation through phonecards and letters but then acting indifferent when in person.
Anyways, I hope it was filler and the kids never mention or talk about it ever.
