A nice episode. It seems that in the past poverty was more acceptable as a topic on tv in general.

"You will live here with me forever"

Everyone sure is lonely enough to kidnap Tetsuo and force him to live forever with them in this show. Not that I'm complaining. Learning about each world is the cool part, I just wonder how many more times a lonely person will try to steal him, haha

So in the end Maetel gets a pass AND Tetsuro. What if she had asked for a whole planet or two? Too bad she didn't realise she couldn't live outside of her house any more

I'm quickly losing interest. The qualities of the stories are going just going down and the same plot get's repeated over and over and there's like 90+ episodes still to go.

The whole "please understand, please understand" shtick is getting real old. I do think that it's a good thing that message of humans thriving to understand everyone but that doesn't mean that you play along with some sicko.

Does Tetsuro get like tied to wall in the future episode and get molested by some fat fuck and after the molester get's killed off we are reminded that the guy just had a bad childhood and we need to grieve for him........NO!

Quite a sad episode, yet still very lovely! Interesting episode though but I do think the real Maetel knew it would happen or she would never have given those things to the other Maetel.

Let's see what's next though.

Not sure Maetel was being kind or unkind when she didn't tell new Maetel what was likely to happen.

I agree the schtick of "arrive at station, experience adventure, barely make it back to 999 in time for departure, learn moral lesson" is getting a bit tired. Thankfully the stories and worlds in every episode are fascinating enough to not let it bring down the entire series. It's still a run ride, so far.

"You'll be spending whole days reading books and watching TV with me."
Seems like the best future possibility for someone with no life, Tetsuro. (I can tell as an experienced person)

So, by "living in the mud" for too long, you "become mud" ? Errh, how should I understand that? It sounds quite horrible for poor peoples or whatever you can see as "mud".

4/5 What an ugly episode ! The things it says...

This show is completely schizophrenic. In ep 16, the moral is that beauty and status are human constructions, and are relative. This episode's moral is that, poor people don't survive outside of the ghetto. In other words, Mud Maetel's place in life was what society told her -to be exiled under the mud for eternity (never mind the conundrum of how she snatched Tetsuro to begin with). What? What the fuck?

I guess every episode is written by somebody different, with completely different ideas on everything.

The main reason I still watch this is anime for the straight shota implications I can get out of it, tbh

>"The water pressure knocked off my underwear!"
Now that just might be the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
>"Her cellular structure turned to mud."
Now that just might be the 2nd stupidest thing I have ever heard.
-This was a particularly bad episode.

This is, unfortunately, probably the case. I'm still watching because of the atmosphere and I heard Maetel ends up being a really interesting character.

You're not gonna watch 113 episodes for some /ss/ are you?
EDIT:
Updated signature because Tinypic is shutting down.

You're talking to a true degenerate here, I just might. It seems like every two episodes follow this formula:

Still, it's definitely my lowest priority anime to watch, for sure. I actually started this in July 2018 and I've only gotten this far since then.

You don’t know what's going to await you if you set a foot outside, but at least she tried to live a better life.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

What a peculiar planet. The person who saved Tetsurou didn't have a happy ending... It was a composition made of clay.

I'm glad to see that the show has a great diversity about the planets and the people who inhabit them. It's a fascinating anime.

The woman in the mud was a good person, and she probably knew that she wouldn't survive on the surface, but she wanted to escape, and be with Tetsurou.

I started to cry when she died.

A somewhat odd episode that didn't resonate with me as much as previous ones. Still enjoying the series, though.
