| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Yoshiyuki Sadamoto has spent a good deal of time focusing on Asuka. While I am a huge Asuka fan so I enjoy this, I’m still surprised at how liberal he is with his interpretation of the character and the amount of focus he gives her. |
| Yay, so Asuka did move in with Misato and Shinji. And, in this version, it was her that requested it. Hints at ulterior motives, eh? Also, Misato got promoted and a bunch of people showed up, including the seldom scene Hikari, for Kensuke's impromptu party. Misato and Kaji finally saw Asuka's true colors and weren't surprised at all. Foreboding monologue by Shinji at the end. Phaetons_Folly said: THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. | Shinji's final monologue bothered me to no end. Please never stray away from the path of optimism, Shinji. That aside, another chapter focusing very much on Asuka. The fact that she isn't viewed as the perfect girl as she wants to be greatly upsets her. I'm still not sure if Toji's accent is the best thing I've ever seen in a manga or quite simply the worst one. |

| I like this Asuka a lot more than the anime. All of the characters feel more nuanced |
