Culture of Japan, East v. West

Would you move to Japan given the oppurtunity?

As you obviously know, in many cases Eastern and Western cultures clash in many places. Here we discuss the culture of Japan, as well as other places such as America and Western Europe, how they oppose each other, and how they co-exist.

Please refrain from being racist, as well as a weeaboo, the nation is not a wonderland, it does have many problems. If you have cultural insight do share with everyone, and if you are going to post a rumor of sorts or something from word-of-mouth that cannot be proven, please do state so.

I would honestly love to go to japan sometime, however, I have heard that in much of the northern parts, they really do not like Americans, mainly because of the bombing of Hiroshima all those many years ago.

does anyone know of any good areas to check out (omitting, of course, Akihabara, as I am pretty sure that it is one area that many people would like to go to)

Kyoto used to be the capital of Japan until the west came into the picture and it was moved to Tokyo, possibly due to easy access on the bay. But Kyoto is treated as the tourism capital in a way.

Osaka pretty much has its own culture to be proud of.

Not sure about how the north treats Americans, or foreigners in general, as I haven't heard much about them, but I'll get back to you as I do have family out there and friends who live there/go there yearly.
