What do you think?

I really care if I look a fangirl or not. I like the usual things that fangirls do - but I don't listen to j-music because it's cool, and I don't like BL, because they are kawaii. If I favorize something, that means, that I found something in it; something that represents one part of me. And I'm trying to be careful, when talking about my favorized stuffs to somebody. I only parodize fangirls, but I don't consider myself to one of those... finched eggs. I aways have a reason when I favorize somebody/something.

As I mentioned earlier when someone saying things like "I only like x or y!", that is a sign of fanatism. I hate fanatism, I hate narrow-minded people!

Music... well I listen to very much j-music (at the moment for example ^^) but I don't listen them 'cause they are cool but rather I like them and that's my real reason of listening to them.

Borderline... when you love something just because it's 'x' or 'y' or 'n***to'... in spite of it being a piece of crap. Loving it unconditionally and never admitting it has flaws.
Talking about it all the time, making people go crazy, and when someone presents a more objective and reasonable view of your beloved stuff: denying every word of it, feeling hatred for that person, and feeling insulted - even if that person only said 'I think it's not that good'.

I always receive a lot of club inviting about fanclubs. It is really annoying to receive an invitation about a character who I don't even know. They just don't realize that I haven't watched the anime where those characters came from. They don't even check my anime list if I know that series or not.
And it makes me smile when I get an invitation about an anime that I scored low... Don't they realize, that if I scored Enzai 4 points, that means I don't like it?

One thing that goes across the line is saying an anime is "the best anime." Saying it is "awesome" or "my favorite" doesn't cross the line in my opinion, but when they don't even accept that there are other anime that could possibly be better I break things. Denying flaws is another big one. If someone likes something regardless of its flaws that's their thing, but they need to recognize that not everyone can look past those flaws and they need to be able to have a rational and informed discussion about the good and the bad.

P.S. The lack of the ability to have a rational and informed discussion is another marker of fanaticism.

As I said in the intro topic, I'm ashamed to admit I like half the stuff I like. I've been listening to j-music since I was eight, not because I think "Zomg I so kewl if I lyk Gackt lol he so hawt!" but because I genuinely enjoy it. I don't understand the types of people who claim that they adore everything to come out of Japan JUST BECAUSE IT CAME OUT OF JAPAN. Not all j-music is great, not all anime is great, not all JRPGs are great.

I am so exasperated over this whole... thing. It's just stupid.

And I swear to god if one more person says "kawaii" to me, I will kill them. KILL THEM. /twitch

I get your point, you're right. I totally agree. Sometimes I feel embarrassed too, because I like these "cartoon" stuff, but I always came over it. And yeah... Every j-music fangirl listens to Gackt, because he is "hot". I wonder if he is that good looking if he would not wear that much make-up. >.<

Well, they say fans couldn't tell who was who from the band Kiss without them wearing their make-ups... And you can make everyone 'hawt' with either heavy make-up or excessive use of Adobe Photoshop.
