Episode was alright. The Animation of the kidnapping and Nihito's death wasn't really well animated but I liked the story about the twins. Next week it's Allison in a dress. :D

Good episode. Never would have guessed that Fiona was a twin so that was unexpected.
I do think that they exaggerated some scenes a bit. Like Nihito grabbing Fi when she was surrounded by guards and he was....10 feet away...or him dying (who honestly dies like that).

Either way, it was a good episode.

Yeah this anime is weak on the detailed stuff, like knife stabbing the knee and no blood, Nihito don't know what he's stabbing, and the audience (crowd/soldiers) easily support/cooperate with whatever is going on the stage. It's like an opera show. Unrealistic to say the least, but Allison & Lillia focus on the bigger parts where it involves the mass. Major changes from an event after event after event. It's different from what I've seen in the past months so I like it nontheless. The art is really cool too, I also like town background.

Either way, it was a good episode.

The foreshadowing for Fi's identity was in episode 5. Will was wondering why there was only one twinflower on the crest when they always bloom in pairs. The only revelation I would note as not being blatantly obvious from episode 5 was the true purpose of the village. I'd guessed they were restorationists back then.

And yeah, the whole period from Nihito's abduction to his death was rather weak. Another thing that hasn't been noted yet is that Warren was only stabbed in the leg. With such a superficial wound, he should have been capable of rescuing the princess despite it.

Still a few unanswered questions on my part:
It suggests Nihito was acting alone, but how could he have managed all that without some help? Security would have had to be terrible for a single person to set a massive fire, then proceed to kidnap the princess, then run with her to the king and queen, shoot them, and escape from it all without so much as being identified. It should be next to impossible without assistance to keep all the guards busy.

The villagers were extremely suspicious of Allison and Will because they were identified as Roxche military, to the point of capturing and detaining them. What were the grounds for that suspicion? Moreover, if they thought those two were sent, why hold them like that? A disappearance would attract more attention, especially if they were actually searching for someone.

The animation was definitely quite shoddy at times in this episode and stuff like "O noes, he grabbed Fiona who was roughly three feet away from him while we all had /guns pointing at him/ and he has a letter opener/knife, whatever shall we do!" is so farfetched and ridiculous it's almost painful, yet somehow this series stays fun to watch. Probably just because I <3 Allison.

The plot is pretty unbelievable no matter how you look at it, but I still really enjoy this series. This episode in particular wasn't as good as the others, but the next one looks promising if not entertaining.

Oh, this was so predictable u.u The stuff from the twin flower, the preview from the last episode... u.u

I'm really expecting for the plot to improve at some point... And those two knives and all that O.o OM, someone needs to make this plot-holes disappear -.-

Anyway.. I think I'm gonna keep watching just because of Allison xDD The anime isn't half as good as I expected but Allison is such a great character ;P And that dress ;P

The hostage scene was a disapointment.

Plus Owen was portrayed as a genius for single-handedly setting a palace on fire and a fool for the moment of his death.

Everything else was okay.

i love how all the guards came from nowhere to supress nihito. that made do a 'o rly' face.

i love the campiness. this is definetly a sad attempt at anime soap opera. gotta love it.

Where did Nihito stash all those swords? Did they forget to show a scene where he ripped his previous sword out of the guards leg or what? >.> And then he died by evil wind attack lol. Yay for Allison in a dress!

Too bad the animation is so bad, it could have been a great episode. The script is quite interesting though, so that makes up for some mistakes.

I'm loving the comments here XD LOL!

I just saw the episode myself and it was good but yet again I disappointed by how quickly things were easily resolved. It was pretty dumb how Owen managed to kidnap Fi and how all those guards were pretty much useless... Why was Carr Benedict the only one to give chase?

Well at least a lot of the question I had about this story were answered in the end. Looks like I will be writing an interesting review for this series. ^_^

Nice episode but sure had some flaws like stated above.

Allison: "You notice the secret behind the twin flowers, but you don't even realize my feelings."

Alison's feeling have slowly been brought up in the story. Now it's time to spice things up a little. Don't wanna have to wait for the last episode for her to confess to Wil.

I really wonder if the books are as ridiculous as this or are the creators of the show just botching the job. How can the same guy that created Kino's Journey make this drivel? I don't know why it took me so long, but consider this dropped.

Such nice art and chara design. An another world awaiting to be explored. Cute tsundere blondie, and two good veteran female seiyuus.
Only the plot targeted for 5 year kids. What a waste.
After first chapter I've clinched my teeth and thought maybe next one will be better and I should give it a chance. Now it's enough, dropped with benevolently high note 3/10

the pacing is way to fast to allow for good storytelling :/

also, the plot twists (if you can call them that) would only catch a child by surprise, honestly who didn't know that there were 2 princesses after they showed that plaque in the village? and is everyone just stupid or did it really take them that long to figure out that the entire village was created for Fiona's sake?

what was surprising however, was that Nihito was able to bring any weapons at all (much less large obvious weapons like those) to what should have been a secured event, that with at least a dozen guards not one of them thought to shoot him when he made a move for the princess, that not one of them thought to tackle him (he was weaponless most of the time so it would have been easy to take him from behind), and that not one of those so-called guards gave chase when a known regicide ran off with their queen.

honestly if i didn't like allison so much i'd drop this series now :(

Wil "Ohmygaad Fi is in danger!"
Allison "Let's take the airplane!!"

okay guys, you are sitting in the airplane, making circles around the building.. and now?

Allison "Let us make the wind blow that way that a huge person like Nihito will fall down from the building but our small being Fiona stays on it"
Wil "Oh Allison you're such a genius"

ahahaha, logical anime~ you can resolve everything with airplanes~

haha, logic and anime doesn't meet xD

anyway, kinda disapointed really, not all of it though, the fiona part was great, just that the hostage part was really lame :( and the runaway with the aircraft part was too, the men in arms chasing behind it could have shooted it, and wow, they ram the aircraft into so many things, gah, putting that aside, awesome episode 4/5

Lame episode is lame. D:

The plot with Nihito was just badly done. It was full of plot holes, and really. WTH was up with him falling? Love your description, Talon. XD

I liked the backstory of the village, but that's about it.

I don't quite know why I continue watching this. I guess I hope that the potential it has (and it does have a lot, really) will be utilized. And because of Allison. Gotta love Allison.

This is the exact description of this show, but my face was an "lol wut" vs an "o rly". It takes me back to when I was a kid and gives me vibes of when I used to watch the adventures of tintin. With the utterly ridiculous action and stuff that went on, it seems to me this is aimed at a very young audience (or the source is being absolutely butchered), which is not a fault but doesn't stand to compare to any real series that I have watched.

I laughed so much during the action from when she revealed the cufflink to when Nihito got blown off. The best part was that he took her hostage with no weapons and was surrounded by like 20 guards with guns, then started busting out knives, the dive when he took Fi also made me laugh quite a bit.

Before I picked this up, I thought that the reviews were being a little harsh and there was no way it could be that bad considering the creator and some of the va's I liked... but this is pretty terrible all around. I still enjoy it though, if only for the nostalgic feeling I get watching it, and will continue to catch up.

Wow! This is fucking corny way of killing off a antagonist and LOL@ Allison and Wil being sad, when there plane was the contributing factor to his death.

Security was awful. One of the guards was right next to the guy and his gun was only a feet away from the guy head... Could of gotten a head shot.

About the death of Nihito, the way he died was too funny. It is as if he stepped on a banana peel and with the aide of the gust of the incoming airplane, he was gone, whisked away like a discarded flatten cardboard box. Lol. Meanwhile Fiona and Benedict remained unscathed due the plot armour.

I was pretty interested when Fiona admitted to lying in the previous episode; while the first story arc was about revealing the truth, this second one seemed to be heading towards perpetrating a lie, and that could be thematically very interesting.

However, the outcome is fairly disappointing. This one-child custom of the royal family is pretty unbelievable given that before modern times children very frequently wouldn't survive their early years.

It also lets Fiona off the hook for her lie. If she were just some girl, being the cause of the former palace guard leaping into getting stabbed would really not be OK. It also totally ignores any issues of government and legitimacy. I'm probably being foolish expecting anything like that from a show like this, but I can't help but find the omission glaring. I don't care at all about this country's monarchy so something else was really needed. As it is it might as well have skipped the whole part where Fiona says she's lying because there is just no pay-off.

This is really nit-picky and doesn't matter, but I'll mention that identical twins always come in mirrored left-handed/right-handed pairs, but both of these twins seem to be right-handed, if I can judge from the brief flashbacks of Francesca.

Man that hostage situation made me laugh out loud, talk about cheesy and Nihito's death just made me throw my hands up in disbelief. Now I know why a good amount of reviews for this series are 5 and below. This feels like it was made to air right after Dora the Explorer on Nick.

That aside though, I liked Fi's story of being the twin and how that all added up to what led her to this episode. Also liked the symbolism behind those twinflowers. Not really sure what to expect from the rest of this series.

I can definitely see Kino's Journey in this show. An emphasis on traveling, particularly through late 19th century and early 20th century technology, detailed firearms, and the look into different countries and their ways of living.

Though, this is more plot-based, has distinct characters, and has a bit of give and trade with regards to subtlety. Really, how did Owen expect to talk his way out of taking the alleged princess hostage and stabbing a soldier in front of a crowd? What did he have to gain from that? The show also has blatant villains that die in convenient ways, absolving the main characters of any guilt by having them essentially kill themselves.

Those aside, that reveal at the end really spoke volumes about how the unsaid aspects of Fiona's departure from her village. It also explain why the village was so protective, why their immediate concern was to ensure Fiona's safety when Wil and Allison were captured, and how they so quickly assembled with their armory in ready. In fact, the flower detail was extremely subtle, which was something I really appreciated.

Fiona is the rare case of looking to me like "anime 14," but is actually 20
good on you, Allision & Lillia

the reasoning is really only suitable for the 10 and under set, and can't satisfy an adult. The worst part of this storyline is that the motivations of the antagonist are literally not addressed. Like, the most glaring omission is why did he burn down the palace? Who were his accomplices? The geo-political elements of this story are ignored- most likely explanation, that our protagonists' homeland is behind this action, is not brought up. Why is he so dumb as to wear something personally identifiable in a treasonous action?

I like Allison and the interwar aesthetic so I might keep watching but...it's really not that good

Not the best episode, unfortunately. Nihito's actions were counterproductive, and there was little discussion about the risks of Fiona deceiving the population by claiming to be her deceased sister. If anything, even coming out with the truth and just revealing that she is Francesca's twin sister would already give her a legitimised royal status within the country, without any of the deception.

This isn't the sort of series where you should be meticulously dissecting every frame and line of dialogue in it, but this scenario was contrived to the point of being ridiculous.
