Mmmmmmm Zenigata's men are lucky to have the nicest view of a topless Fujiko.
I was largely disappointed when she had been omitted from much of the special, but the more irritating this is probably that they already had a time-traveling concept done in the tv series. I enjoyed it, but I wanted something a lot more fresh.

And that episode used the same time traveler and used him better because the story focused on his actions and Lupin's response where this is mostly a fairly boring historical fiction. Then they even do a second TV series-style eyecatch. They're really borrowing too much from the past.

I also thought the snail's-pace decoding of the legend was quite the bore. It's also amazing that Lupin figured out that they were creating the legend but didn't consider that the time-traveling object mentioned might be Mamou's machine.

Wasn't this kinda a remake of that time travel episode? I think I read that somewhere. Time paradoxes get you every time.

I really liked the historical setting in this one.

Also, it was nice to see Mamou again, as well as Lupin XIII whom we only heard of this time; he looked a lot more like Lupin than I was expecting, I liked that. Good to know that even though Lupin VIII looked a bit different the genes kick back in.

I enjoyed Ofumi quite a bit as well despite having already developed Fujiko like traits she seemed somewhat nicer and more innocent. I also enjoyed the fact that Zenigata traveled through time without getting into a time machine TWICE without ever accepting they had gone back in time.

This one was okay I guess, but not enough Fujiko. lol Iseka and Eshika weren't nearly as cool as they could've been either. They kind of were just there being controlled by those two who really held the power. Iseka still had some guts, personality, and she "clicked" with Goemon though, Eshika was the really bland one with not a lot of screen time unfortunately. Two houses in a war for a "divine" treasure should've been way cooler than that.

And I think Obitaki may have died, but Takaya deserved justice. Not necessarily by killing the man himself, but he was a terrible man, killed many, but just kind of fell in a hole and whatever? But the focus was Mamou Kyousuke and the supposed treasure which could cross time itself, and stuff. Well, it was still kind of cool and funny. I think Zenigata never believed he traveled in time in the end, and he still left that bike there polluting the ocean for 500 years. He should be ashamed. But Lupin was really mean almost leaving him in the past too, so... lol And poor Goemon couldn't even keep the necklace, Ofumi really went for it again.

They didn't finish it without questions.Lupin didn't get back his Walther ,I wouldn't think about a part 1 remake if I didn't read it here .I was confused they didn't recognize Mamo but it couldn't be accidentally that he can travel in time too and has the same name as Mamo in pt 1.It is a weak special. Is lupin still burning OVA is better.

I kinda had a Scooby doo vibe during the rewatch. Naya Goro is still the best Zenigata. No one can be as lovable as him in the role.He was alaways perfect even when he got old.

I was expecting (hoping?) that Mamoh was going to be a little remorseful there, get left behind, and eventually hook up with Ofumi. Then when the gang gets back to the present, Fujiko just happens to have something that notes him as her ancestor, and Lupin would forever be haunted by that fact if he ever taps that ass. The ultimate payback for future Lupin stealing his girl.
