A large group of people were converged in a circle around something so he started walking over to it one of the admins noticed him and turned to face him* Admin: I dont know how you got in here but you must leave at once! you have violated the rules by coming into a quarentined area but i will over look it this time since there is a bigger issue at hand but if you interfere you will be deleted! Albel: What are you doing? Why are you harassing that girl? Admin: That is for us to know and for you to ignore now GO! Admin: fine we will take him out by the old fashioned way *Albels eyes looked from left to right as all the admins dissapeared and then reappeared around him stabbing spears at him he angled his limbs so they would all miss then bent his arms and knees catching them in his knees and elbows then spun his body disarming them he then landed on his hands and knees pushing off the ground drawing his twin blades as the charged from all sides he jerked his head from side to side then spun kicking the first in the face using his twin blades one in front one behind to block attacks from the two that had been coming from the sides then rolled forward to avoid an attack from the heavy blade behind him when the blade hit the ground it shattered the earth as if it were a clay pot * Albel: HEY GIRL! Get out while you can ill keep these guys distracted while you escape! *Mimi nodded and teleported out of the area he then drew his attention back to the 4 other people just in time too his eyes widened and he jerked his head to the side and dodged the blade master attack it nicked his cheek and he gasped as his health was cut nearly in half* Albel: what kind of players are these? even with my level they did that kind of damage!? They must be boosting their characters to kill me... *Albel takes out his heavy blade and ducks under one of the admins attacks and as the sword passed over him he stabbed upwards stabbing the admin in the chin killing him* Admin 3: WHAT? Admin 1: Calm down there is no way he can last through all 4 of us hes already down half health Admin 2: Right! we just need to gang up on him Albel: You guys disgust me, you wont take on anyone unless you outnumber them? *The group charge him again and he slashes away their attacks backing up to make up for the charge then one came up from behind and this time he switched too his scythe swinging it in circles above his head to make them back off then using the special skill he had come up with "Deaths Clutch" dissappered* Admin 2: Where did he go Admin 3: Data says....Behind you Steve! *but it was two late Albel reapeared behind the first admin slashing him in half* Admin 2: BASTARD! *he charged blindly obviously the thought of losing to one regular player was making act outside of reason and he attacked from the front Albel read his attack easily and countered taking him down quickly leaving the last admin who stumbled and fell backwards as Albel walked slowly towards him looming over him pointing the blade of his scythe down at him* Albel: Picking on the weak yet cowering when someone appears that can actually fight back...... I despise people like you *His eyes glowed light blue for a second contrasting the usually red color and the area filled with static* Albel: This is a world built for all people and is meant to be protected by you admins but that doesnt mean destroying a person just because you dont understand them. My name is Shinji Akuma, Im a college student with a part time job to pay for my apartment. In my off time I play this game The World under the name Albel. When i first started playing this game i got pked several times in a row and was about to quit when I met this person who told me about a character in the previous version of them game that had gone through the same thing that I had but then became very famous. I later found out that persons character name had been Haseo. This had gotten me interested in people that made a name for themselves in The World and many people had similar stories. In real life I try to protect the weaker people in school. The ones that get bullied a lot. It pisses me off that people attack those that are weaker than them. And actually I have gotten in trouble and almost kicked out of school for fighting witha bully that was picking on one of the girls from tennis. Anyways im getting off track the point is when i talked to this person and learned about all these people that fight to protect the people of The World names such as Kite and BlackRose the two original .hackers who supposedly saved The World and all its players and were hated for it. called hackers and shunned by many people. This made me think if I enjoy helping out people in real life if i got strong enough i could help them here as well. So i decided i would become a PKK like this Haseo person i had heard of and protect people that are in danger. Its kinda ironic though I went into it with those hopes and somehow got a name for myself as the Dread Knight..... I dont know how they came up with that name sine i dont have knight armor or anything but whatever at least its not Terror of Death or Dot Hacker. Several months passed by after i had made my decision to keep playing and i made a couple of friends a Heavy blade named Storm she had a very beautiful character and a flick reaper named Chaos who was very kind but can also be very scary if you try to get to close to Storm who i later found out was his sister... sounds about like my luck. We always logged onto The World together but one day they stopped getting on. I figured they just got bored and i was kinda hurt that they didnt even say goodby, I later found out that they had both passed away in the hospital. They had gotten very sick very suddenly one day. I attended their funeral and was told by their mother that they were last seen playing the game before they had gotten so sick, which made me wonder if they were inside there house and hadnt met anyone they dont normally talk to or gone anywhere they dont normally go where could they have gotten so sick? Later they did a thorough inspection of the house and found nothing. It came to mind that maby something happened in the game that made them sick like a really bad case of seizures or something. But noone thought that was possible so my idea got blasted down. It was later determined that they had commited suicide by overdosing on some kind of drug. But the Storm and Chaos that I knew were very happy people and they had goals and plans, they were top students in their college and Chaos was supposed to get married in 3 months, Storm had just gotten a new pet cat and had just saved up enough money and put the down payment on a new house. Nothing about it made any sense. I conducted my own investigation on problems in The World but the only thing i could find was rumors tieing it to the comas from several years back. But i couldnt find anything on this mysterious illness and had hit a brick wall. I needed someone that had information... but where could i find this person? |

| After several more months of searching i happened to find a lead on someone with information that ran deep and spanned the entirety of The World, He had gone by Wiseman in The World R1 and Yata in The World R2 apparently he was a head honcho at CC Corp and for a price he would give you info on anything, but his price wasnt cheap in order to keep getting info i would have to work for him. Why he wanted me I had no idea but if i could find out why my friends had died anything was worth it. In order for them to rest in peace and to help anyone else from falling victim i had to do my best. The contact was getting old and didnt do much in The World but on 1 or 2 occasions he came on a mission with me. He was an amazing fighter i could tell that he was a veteran player. And he stayed true too his word every mission i did he would give me a little more information. I found out that the girl Aura and AI created by The World and not the administrators was actually the one running the game now. I also recieved information on what had caused the comas in people in the previous versions. In R! it had been the combination of the phases of the epitaph and a thing called Cubia which was thought to be the darker half of Aura, Kite had stopped Cubia from taking over the net and thus was chosen as one of Aura knights along with Balmung and Orca the Descendants of Fianna. Together the three made up Azure Sky, Azure Sea, And Azure Flame. Of course the actual players of these characters had moved on by this point and so Aura made them from memory. These knights helped protect the world from anomalies such as the new virus AIDA which was another creation of Cubia. However they ended up being framed by a character named Ovan who controlled one of the eight phases named corbenik. Ovan who had been the friendly protective leader of the guild including Shino, Tabi, Sakisaka, and Haseo was in fact infected with AIDA himself and put Shino in a coma this drove Haseo to near madness and Ovan used that anger to place the blame on "Tri-Edge" the name given by people to the remade version of Kite. Haseo became a very famous PKK called the Terror of Death but was later Data Drained by Tri-Edge and brought back to level 1. Meeting new friends including Atoli, a girl that looked exactly like Shino, Endrance, who had actually been a player in The World R1 as well named Elk, Kuhn, Pi, Sakubo, and Yata Haseo had gathered seven of the eight phases to fight Ovan, the last of the eight. Eventually through many tries Haseo was able to defeat Ovan but it had all been a plan from Ovan from beginning to end. Killing Shino was the only way to give Haseo the drive to do what needed to be done and gather the strength of all the epitaphs into himself in order to destroy Ovan causing "The Rebirth" a complete system cleanse that would destroy AIDA. So this meant that the game was indeed connected to the comas, the network meltdowns and everything else, why couldnt it be connected to this sickness that killed my friends? I decided not to tell this CC Corp member about them as i wanted to have my own secrets as well. That way if he decided to turn on me as well I would have some weight to throw as well. I had what I needed, from him i had learned how to get into protected areas if need be and also learned a way to use Data Drain. So I decided to leave this Yata or Wiseman whatever he was and go my separate way. Through PKKing I was able to pick up more information the same way Haseo had. I gleamed from hearsay of ghosts of people that had either quit the game or went into comas that appear every once in a while. This was my next lead! I would have to find these "Ghosts" and talk to them about what they new about the dangers of the world and if it was possible to prevent this threat. Or for someone that was in a coma to come back. My friends were dead they werent coming back. but those that were still sick might be able to be saved. |

| Finally i found her. A person with as much if not seemingly more info than Yata. A hacker, one of the best ive ever seen. She told me many things about the world and the structure that had previously been unknown by anyone that i have ever heard of. One of the things she told me about was Morganna...Morganna is an omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent figure in the The World. She is the underlying system of The World itself. Harald based her personality on that of a mother, but once she rebelled she began to remake herself as something called The Cursed Wave from the Epitaph of the Twilight. As a computer program, she never disobeyed Harald, but merely succumbed to a paradox. Morganna's purpose of existence was to bring forth the birth of Aura. But Morganna would no longer have a purpose to fulfill after Auras birth was completed. Unable to comprehend what she was supposed to do after that, Morganna began to stall Aura's birth. Throughout most of the process, however, she continued to rationalize her actions in terms of her original program, never truly betraying it, in fact following it coolly and logically to the letter. Only after a large portion of her original programming was destroyed and the paradox became eminent did she begin to attempt to destroy Aura outright. All of .hack that currently exists takes place after Morganna's initial realization. The Hacker continued on to tell me more information about a player called Tsukasa who i previously had little information on. This Player also had a conection to Morganna. She orders part of her program, Macha, to lead the character Tsukasa to the bottom of a dungeon and Data Drain him, trapping him within the system. She uses her control over the data of The World to modify his memories, making him believe that he is actually male in the real world, and erasing his happy memories, leaving only the memories of his abusive father. She uses him to help her stall the growth of Aura. By surrounding the fledgling Ultimate AI with only negative emotions, she is able to postpone Aura's awakening indefinitely, avoiding the paradox she fears, while still fulfilling Aura's need for emotional data. In order to keep Tsukasa inside of the system, Morganna provides him with a powerful monster, a Twilight Guardian, to serve as his protector. She also gives him the ability to teleport between fields and servers without having to use a Chaos Gate; with this ability Tsukasa was able to access the isolated area where Aura was kept, along with other areas inside The World that could not be reached by normal players. Morganna's plan went well at first. Tsukasa seemed happy trapped within The World, experiencing power and safety that he had not had in the real world. However, several determined players slowly began to unravel the mystery behind Tsukasa, and awoke in him the desire to return to reality. Morganna tried various methods to keep Tsukasa within the system, but in the end all of them failed. She soon made an alliance with the PK, Sora, so that they could trap Tsukasa and the players in the Hulle Granz Cathedral, but she was once again bested. Even a fragment of Morganna's own self, Macha, turned against her, forcing Morganna to Data Drain her in order to get her out of the way. In the end, Tsukasa succeeded in waking Aura up, and thanks to Sora, managed to return to reality. Filled with rage by his betrayal, Morganna data drained Sora and trapped his mind inside the world, making his player comatose. Then she created, and ordered Skeith, the first phase, to hunt down and capture Aura. After she failed in preventing Aura's awakening, Morganna began hunting her down with force. Being the core system of The World itself, her increasingly erratic behavior began to destroy the very data of the game, causing numerous problems such as Data Bugs and damaged fields to appear. She sent Skeith to pursue Aura, keeping her chances of growth in check. Aura, realizing that Skeith would eventually catch her, created a special item known as the "Book of Twilight" which would allow her to imbue some of her power into a PC. She sought out the legendary player Orca of the Azure Sea to be her champion, but Skeith appeared and defeated Orca, causing the book to fall into the possession of Kite instead. Afterwards, Skeith succeeded in catching Aura, and broke her data into segments that were spread throughout the system. There were those same names again Orca And Kite! I began to realize that everything that happened in The World was connected and effected every person inside it! This was an amazing find! I got some really bad reputation for hanging around this hacker and several people began to suspect that my own stregth was her influence but who cares! She was like a book of everything in the world. I soon began to wonder why she had so much info but I put it to the back of my mind no matter how she got it im sure she had information that would help me in my goal. |

| I helped this hacker gather things called virus cores as payment for her information. it seemed like an easy enough payment for the entire history of The World thats for sure! So i gathered and she spoke more and more i learned about what had happened in the past....Though Aura had been taken care of, Morganna still had to deal with Kite, who was attempting to use the powers given to him to fight her. Gradually, Kite and the .hackers defeated the remaining phases of Morganna, until Corbenik, the Rebirth, was all that remained. During the final battle with Corbenik, as Kite was about to deliver the finishing blow, Aura intervened, sacrificing both herself and her "mother" in order to truly be born. When Aura created the Twilight Bracelet, Morganna created Cubia as an equivalent force on her side. She set him the task of destroying Aura, not caring that success would mean the destruction of the Bracelet, and hence Cubia himself. She only intervenes directly in The World near the end. Just before Corbenik's entrance, Morganna's Eye appears in the sky above Net Slum(She later told me this was a place created by hackers for hackers), and strikes down Natsume, Mistral, and BlackRose. Later, after Kite, Balmung, and Orca defeat Corbenik's first form, she appears as part of the re-formed Corbenik. Ordinary attacks are useless against her, and damage done by her attacks cannot be healed. She is only defeated after Aura, having died and been reborn, gives Kite the power he needs. Through Project G.U., the CyberConnect corporation attempted to reconstruct Morganna, this time under their full control. The project succeeds in reconstructing her eight elements, but fails in reactivating them as a single entity, losing most of the phases back into the system. But as Ovan proves these phases are constantly attracted to eachother and gather together. This Hacker whoever she truely is believes that it is only a matter of time before the come fully together again |

| I had all the information i needed on Morganna so once again i decided to leave on my own having fufilled my end of the bargain with the hacker and paid with enough of these virus cores for the facts on Morganna I then turned my attention to the Phases of Morganna. I wanted to know more about Skieth, Innis, Magus, Tarvos, Macha, Gorre, Fidchell and Corbenik. After some time i found one of the ghosts! I couldnt believe my eyes at first. I figured it was a laggy character or something but no this person by all accounts matched BlackRose completly. I had found one of the .Hackers.... She was hard to befriend... she was untrusting and unsure if i was a good person or a hacker bent on destroying The World after all rumors had already spread about me over the boards. But eventually I got her to talk and we actually became acquaintances that respected eachother I dont know if you could call us friends though. The First phase she told me about was Macha. I was kinda irritated since Macha was the one I already had the most info on but i let her speak anyways most of the info BlackRose gave me on Macha was usless or stuff I already knew but the last bit intrigued me she had said Kite and Elk encountered Macha within a bonus dungeon. They follow the AI to the bottom of the dungeon where Macha becomes held captive inside of the Twilight Vagrant/Temptress Lover. After it is defeated, Macha is freed and transforms into Mia. That means that the phases are cabable of taking on a human like form. I would need to look up information on this "Mia" at a later date. She told me all she new about the other phases but it was pretty undetailed but i couldnt blame her its hard to gleam info from a monster that is trying to put you in a coma... So instead i turned my attention to learning as much about the epitaph of twilight. but its mostly a bunch of garbled data and phrases but i found the following passages: "Riding the Wave is Skeith, the Shadow of Death, to drown all that stands." "Mirage of Deceit, Innis, Betray all with the flawed image, and did aid the Wave." "And by the Power of Magus, a drop from the Wave doth reach the heavens, and creates a new Wave." "With the Wave, Fidchell, the power to tell the dark future, hope darkens, sadness and despair rule." "Gorre schemes when swallowed by the Cursed Wave." I assume there is a saying that goes with each phase but at the moment i am unable to find them. On a side note i found out something possible useful about finding the new epitaphs. Like Skeith is to Ryou Misaki, the player behind both Sora and Haseo, Macha was connected to Endrance's player Kaoru Ichinose seven years prior, as Mia, to Ichinose's character, Elk. Also, like Sora, Mia was the other half of the basis for the Epitaph Users. If this is true than that means that the phases are attracted to and stick close with people that were always there or are at least connected to the people they were originally with. |

| *Albel walked out of the chaos gate into Mac Anu after so long he didnt recognise her but the girl he had saved ran up to him and hugged him. He had pushed her off and started to walk away but she kept following him until he asked her what she wanted she then told him about the events that had gone on and asked to stay with him he didnt really care as long as she stayed out of his way so she began to follow him wherever he went from that moment on his mind hurt he had stuffed every detail of The World he could into his head and still felt no closer to finding the cause to his friends death. * mimi: so what are we gonna do Albel? Albel: Im gonna start gathering the epitaphs... Mimi: why are you gonna do that? Albel: cause i need to have a chat with either Morganna or Aura and Aura isnt anywhere to be found. |
