| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- I've just discovered this series recently. It's probably the best shoujo I've read in my life - and by "best" I mean "a gem among the really uninteresting rest of them". Other gems I've managed to find are Tokyo Innocent and Last Game. Anyway - this manga is really charming, and whenever it wants to be funny it is really funny. The unfortunately typical "love-drama" (you know, something happens, the girl in love misunderstands and we get 10+ chapters of nothing but her internal monologues about how poor she is) is really toned down here. Mostly because the whole love stuff is not the only thing the manga has to offer. We have a young girl living by herself, being very mature in some aspects but still a kid in other ones, the twins' whose father ran away and who are bound to be taken away from their motherly-figure and a hard-working adult who has to take care of two little monsters in his brother's place, even though as much as he tries, he's not very capable of doing so. |
| It's a very beautiful manga, congratulations on discovering it :) I like the progression so far and I can definitely see the "relationship" maturing unlike any other typical shoujo manga I can't wait for the next chapter! |

Not sure I would label this as one of the "best" shoujo out there, especially in any romantic context, in fact if I considered this a romance manga I would probably give it a 6 ... however I do love the slice of life and do consider it a great manga however eworm I Think it would be wise to go and read more shoujo before thinking of a whole genre as being cliche ... I mean most shounen are battle shounen where they fight --> lose --> train --> win type of pattern and are very cliche and similar too, so does that make all of shounen bad? No... Anyways another good chapter, might need to read this in small doses though since the "almost romance" bit is killing me. Plus I love the baby twins aspect so might need to save this for the next time I face check a tragedy. |
