Skyrocketing ratings?

I felt that personally, I was part of the first group to really start watching this particular anime. I started almost right as the anime originally came out, and read some parts of the light novel. I continued to follow it as new episodes came out as well. But on this site, I strongly recall at the start the average rating being around 7.21, around 4000th~~ place, but after episode 9 or 10, it suddenly skyrocketed a couple of thousand places, landing at the 500th ish place it has now. Personally I felt that it was a solid series throughout and didn't particularly get much better at any point, being a 8.5-9 all through. So I'm wondering, what made you like this anime, and does anyone have explanation for these insane jumps?

I wouldn't say skyrocket, but yes, this is how most shows and ratings on this site works. Shows that are inflated in scores tend to drop when it ends, shows with low scores tend to go up as a show finishes. Expect SAO to drop a bit at the end.

This show is a bit special in that case as well. As a Sengoku fan, I started on this show at the very beginning as well. I know in /a/, we were a really small group and people started joining in after seeing pictures and how much people were enjoying it. I think by the end the Nobuna fanbase was probably the second or third largest.

I'm particularly hoping that score will at least go to 8.0.

considering I had no expectations for this show apart from it coming from a great studio, I was pretty surprised how well it did throughout the series...it certainly is one of the underdogs for the season

I think it deserves a 8. It never got boring and the characters were great season 2 anybody.
