| I saw some people asked the following questions or similar questions several times on the Another ep threads, so I've decided to post up my answer/ speculation here. doesn't everyone memories about reiko supposed to be altered ? Then why the granpas remember that reiko is dead ? Can someone tell me how Reiko's father remembered that she died the first time? I didn't understand how come Reiko was living in the same house has her parents and kouichi, her father couldn't see her or what? Reiko was the Another, not a spirit, so she was supposed to have a physical body just like a normal person does, so I think that the grandpa could see her just like all the others. As to whether grandpa actually remembered Reiko’s death or not, I personally don’t think he remembered. Even thou he was senile, he could still manage to recognise people and carry on a conversation with other people(eg. In ep 1, he was talking with Kouich about school). Therefore, it wouldn’t make sense to think that he could carry on and live normally(as if nothing happened) with Reiko in the house while knowing she was dead. At lease, I personally don’t believe so. Why did he say “Poor Ritsuko, poor Reiko”, I think he was saying that too often after Ritsuko and Reiko‘s death that it had become a habit for him, and those words didn’t hold the actual meaning (ie. Reiko is dead) to him anymore, just like the bird kept repeating “why and cheer up”, the bird repeated those words without knowing what it actually meant. This is just my speculation and we have no way to find out the real truth unless we get to ask the author, Ayatsuji sensei, of course. hope this helps :) |

The following is my reply for this comment: Akazawa's cousin/brother can't be the killer, as he died before Reiko in the anime. Simple as that. |
