| A few hours of questionable travel later, the Aurora docks up at the Kavardan station. The crew, worn out from their adventure, takes off throughout the city of Kavarda, each heading their separate ways. Alexi, Cyn, Alan, Zaine, and Brink are some of the last to leave the ship. |
| "Back away huh?" Alexi says with a sigh as she stretches her legs. "Yup." Cyn says, tapping away at his PDA screen. "Guess we should head over to the capital building and see about that arrangement." Alexi says starting in that direction. |
| Brink walks in front of them. "I'll take care of it. The federation expects me to deliver a full report. Why don't you two relax and give Alan and Zaine a tour. We have a room for them set up at the residential district. Besides, knowing the federation, it will be an over night discussion." He turns to Alan. "You will be representing your planet and their standing on the arrangement. I will come for you when you are needed. Understand?" Alan nods seriously. "Yes sir!" She says as her seriousness turns to a giggle. "Well then, anything else before I take my leave?" Brink asks the group. |
| Alexi and Cyn look at each other, then Alexi shrugs. "I don't think there's anything," she says, turning back to Brink. "Make it happen Brink." |
| "Very well. I will see you all soon." Brink nods and heads off to the Government district. |
| "Arlighty!" Alexi says as he walks away. "Now," she says, turning to the rest. "Well, what would guys like to do now?" Cyn holds up a hand. "I have something I wanna do, so I'll be seeing you guys later." "Where are you going?" "The shopping district. There's something I gotta go pick up!" Cyn says as he runs off. "Well, that three of us." She sighs and shakes her head. |
| (ARLIGHTY!) "OH! OH! LET'S GO SHOPPING AND THEN HAVE OUR FASHION SHOW!" Alan exclaims, smiling happily. |
| (LOL! I was not awake when I posted that...) "I almost forgot about that!" Alexi exclaims, excited again. "Sounds good to me. Oh Alan, you're going to love the shops here; goods come in to Kavarda from all over the galaxy. It's a hub of trade." Alexi and Alan start to walk off, Zaine following behind them. "Great," he mumbles to himself. "I wish she had forgotten about that..." |
| (I assumed so. Poor Zaine, haha! :p) "I sure hope that you have an currency exchange. I only have 100 Minnows." Alan frowns a bit, really hoping to buy some awesome goods. |
| "There's an exchange in this district and the Merchant district, which is where we're headed." Alexi gives her a sideways glance. "Minnows? What are those?" (Please tell me she hasn't been carrying around little fish...) Zaine rifles through his pockets and looks at his own money. (I wonder if they take these here...Probably not considering my planet hasn't had anything to do with anyone else's before.) |
| "They are our currency." Alan answers as she pulls out a bunch of different colored stones carved into fish heads. Alan points to a small blue stone with a minnows face carved into it. "Though it is small, it's also buoyant in water. It's a symbol that you shouldn't be greedy and you should expect your funds to fluctuate over time. Plus they look really cool when you have a bunch of them!" Alan smiles and hands one to Alexi and Zaine. "Have many blessings, my friends." |
| Alexi examines it as if it's a lost treasure from a faraway land. "Whoa...Thanks Alan!" Zaine turns the little stone over in his hand. "It feels so light. Way different from the money back home." "What's your currency look like?" Alexi asks Zaine. "Here, I'll give you some." He reaches into a little leather bag and pulls out a small yellow hexagonal cube, a light blue sphere, and a red diamond shaped object and hands them to Alexi. He takes three more out for Alan. "My country uses gemstones as its currency, since they are in abundance, but the country of Isty uses other currency." He reaches into another pouch and pulls out several small polished stones, similar to tiger's eye stone. He holds them out for the girls to take if they wish. |
| Alan decides to keep the blue sphere. "Wow! So many! You must be rich from your hunting! And how shiny they are!" Alan smiles as she examines the gem. "Thank you, Zaine," She says, kissing his cheek. |
| "You're welcome." Zaine blushes a bit. "It's no big deal...I'm hardly wealthy." "These are neat." Alexi says as she turns the tiger eye stones over in the light. "The color changes with the light." "It's a natural occurring stone in the hills and desert regions of Phanaphos." Zaine explains as they reach the start of the Merchant District. "It's made with intense heat and pressure and the colors come from the mineral that it's made of. There's different colored ones because different minerals, under heat and pressure..." He stops as he realizes Alexi is staring at him, dumbfounded. "Sorry," he says, embarrassed. "I just kind of rambled off there a bit..." |
| "You REALLY like rocks, hu!?" Alan says goofily. "Let's go shop!" |
| Zaine chuckles nervously. "Yeah! Let's go! There's a currency exchange in each shop, so no worries about your money not working." Alexi says, excited as the head into a clothing/accessory store. Alexi immediately starts handing Zaine clothing to try on. "Isn't this a lot?" He asks as she piles more clothes into his arms. "Well, you've gotta try things on too." Alexi smiles. "Though most of it's mine!" |
| Alan looks around and after a while finds a beautiful light blue body suit with silver and dark blue decals. It seems to be made out of some type of foreign material. "This is so unique." She says as she starts taking her clothes off to try it on. "Oh silver boots too!" (Example of outfit:) |

| "Miss!" A female store clerk chirps as she comes over and stops Alan from stripping. "You have to use a room on the side over there" she points with her taloned hand "if you'd like to try that on." Alexi pushes Zaine into a changing booth. "Try those one and then come out and show me!" "Fine." Zaine grumbles as he closes the door. (She makes me haul around a mountain of clothes then tells me to try sh*t on? I don't even know what some of this stuff is!) Alexi waits patiently while Zaine puts on the outfit she gave him. "Are you done y--" Zaine walks out wearing the clothes she picked out for him. "Nice. I approve." She fixes a few things. "This color really brings out your eyes..." "At least they're comfortable..." "I tried picking something you'd wear..." Alexi hands him more. "Alright. Try these next. I'm going to go change too." |
| "Oh okay! Thank you, Miss!" Alan chimes as she walks into a changing room. A few moments later she pops out looking quite luscious. Any man's cause of nose bleed. "How do I look?" Alan asks as she sports a heroic pose. |
| Alexi steps out of her room sporting her new outfit. Zaine opens the door. "She'd not my--" He stops his sentence as he looks at her. (HOT DAMN) He shuts the door quickly. "You look amazing Alan!" he says from behind the safety of the door. Alexi laughs. "Nicely done!" |
| "Many thanks, Zaine! Can I see your outfit now?" Alan asks as she looks over Alexi. "You also look wonderful, Alexi! You remind me of a Halloin with that outfit!" |
| "I thought you'd like it Alan!" Alexi beams. "Zaine come out and show Alexi the outfit you just had on." "Alright hang on..." (Just as I go to take it off...) He steps out with the outfit Alexi gave him to try and holds out his arms. "Well," he asks nervously. "What do you think?" |
| Alan gives him a once over circling him. "You look very comfortable and handsome. I think it gives you a great vision, Zaine!" She smiles her cute little Alan smile. |
| Zaine smiles back and blushes. (Oh. My. God.) Alexi smiles devilishly. (This is great! I wonder what Cyn's up to...? He should be here!) --- Cyn walks past the shop where Alexi and the rest are. (Poor man.) He keeps taking turns until he winds up in front of a rundown tavern, the sign vandalized and almost unreadable, one of the two double doors fallen over, the other coming off its hinges, broken glass where the windows used to be. "So this is what's become of the Melody huh? Rose and Jack would be rolling their graves if they knew..." |
| "Well, I'm going to put this back and look for some other things!" Alan exclaims as she skips back to the dressing room. |
| "Careful Zaine," Alexi says. "You're showing what you're thinking..." "Huh? What? No I wasn't---" Zaine stammers. "Alright!" Alexi cuts him off. "Next outfit please. We're definitely getting that one." "O-Okay." Zaine says as he goes back into the room with more clothes. --- Cyn walks between the tavern and the building next to it and into the backyard. There's a single elm tree growing there and a row of flowers against one wall, but everything is covered in weeds and tall grass. He sighs and makes his way to the basement entrance. The doors here have been locked using a padlock and chain, though the chain has since rusted with age. "Wonder if the key still works?" He picks up the padlock and inserts a key then tries to turn it. The key breaks from the strain. "Awesome." |
| Alan puts the outfit back and continues looking around. She comes upon a purple, silver, and white outfit placed on a mannequin. "This is just what I've been looking for." Alan says astonished as she runs back into the changing room. |
| Alexi steps out of the dressing room with her next outfit on. The store clerk from earlier hops over. "Very nice miss," she sings. "Trying to impress anyone this time?" Alexi giggles. "Not this time Tori. What do you think?" "You look lovely." "I never get tired hearing that come out of your beak." Tori scoffs. "Now it's the truth!" She rubs her beak and holds out her taloned hands. "Can I assume you've got a lot on your cart already?" "It's by the counter, though we're not done yet." "Always a pleasure having you as a customer!" Tori hops back to the register. (Freakin' bird. Always so nosy...) |
| Alan comes out of her dressing room as well after much issue putting the damn thing on. "Oh wow Alexi, you look beautiful! You need to buy that! If you don't, I will!" She giggles. "I think this is the keeper" Alan twirls around in her outfit. "Cute?" |

| "Thanks Alan!" Alexi smiles at her. "You look awesome in that. You should get it." An idea pops into her head. "Hey! Why don't we show Zaine your outfit. I'm sure he'd think it's cute!" She knocks on Zaine's changing room door. "Zaine look at this!" (Why is leather so hard to get on!?) Zaine opens the door wearing his new outfit--- Alexi walks over to him. "Hey! Let's take a photo! What do you think Alan?" ---- Cyn coughs as he makes his way into the cellar. He pulls out a lamp and sets it on the dusty floor. "Good. Nobody's been here." |
| Alan looks at Zaine with a blushing face. Her mouth opened in awe. After a few moments of gawking, she comes to her senses. "P-Photo, what is a photo, Alexi?" |
| "Here!" Alexi takes out a small rectangular device from her bag in the dressing room and comes back. "I'll show you. Now you stand here and you here and then..." She presses a button the on the device and it clicks. "Then we can see ourselves like this. See?" She shows them the photo of them, Alexi in the middle, Alan to her right looking confused, and Zaine to her left, equally confused. "Neat huh?" Zaine stares at it dumbstruck. "That is so...COOL! How does it work!? Can we take more!?" --- Cyn bumps into a table. "Ow." (Should probably find the power...) He moves the lamp along the floor in front of him until he finds the box that controls the building's power. After a few minutes of fiddling in the dark with it, it starts humming again signalling the return of power. He flips on a switch, lighting up the room. |
| (What the f*ck is Cyn doing?) "YEAH! Let's make silly faces and smiles in them!" Alan suggests as she gets ready for the next photo. |
| (You'll see. It's important otherwise I wouldn't put it in.) "Alright ready?" She positions the camera again and takes more. "Let's do one with just me and Alan." She hands the camera to Zaine. "Just touch the screen when you want to take the photo, okay?" Zaine nods. "Alright," she whispers to Alan. "Let's do a sexy pose one." --- The room is small and has not been touched in years. Dust covers everything. There are racks of various boozes and wines to the left of the entrance and on the right wall are stairs. There's a circular wooden table by the stairs with three chairs around it. Cyn walks until he's under the stairs then starts digging. (Hope it's still here...) After a few minutes he pulls up a little metal box about half the size of a shoe box. |
| "O-Okay! How?" Alan asks nervously. (Other cultures are hard.) |
| "Copy my pose Alan." Alexi says as she takes on the traditional cougar pose among several others. "Did you get all those Zaine?" He says nothing, just stands there with the camera. "Zaine?" She walks over and takes the camera from him. (Did we break him?) --- Cyn puts the box in his backpack, grabs a few things of booze, then heads upstairs. |
| Alan walks up to him to see if he is okay. Her small breasts pressed up to the camera. "Zaiiiiine? Are you okay?" She pokes his forehead playfully. |
| "Leave him Alan. He'll be fine." Alexi smiles evilly. "He's just stuck. This happens to men sometimes, especially ones like him, if you know what I--No you probably don't." She looks at the photos on the camera. "You mind if I send these to a few people?" --- Cyn stands behind the bar of the tavern, looking out onto the floor. Tables and chairs are everywhere, along with empty steins and mugs. Two large empty barrels lay on racks at the back, and another set of stairs leads to the upstairs. He looks at the stairs for a moment then walks out of the building. (If I'd gone up, I'd probably just fall through the floor. Besides, it's better this way. I got what I came for.) |
| "Like who?" Alan asks as she backs away from Zaine. |
| (YES Alan Back away like he is a danger animal...) "Just some friends of mine..." Alexi says as she send the photos. "Alright. I'm going to change out of this and back into my street clothes. You should probably do the same. Then we'll check out of here and on to the next stop!" She walks back into the dressing room. (I'm sure Brink and Cyn will enjoy those.) --- Cyn makes it about twelve blocks, nearing the edge of the Merchant District when his PDA pings. (Message from Alexi?) He opens the message. ("You should have gone shopping with us ~" she says...What are these attachments?) He opens the first, of Alexi and Alan hanging off Zaine like they belong to him, and nearly crushes his PDA in his hand. (LUCKY B*STARD!!) |
| Alan goes to slip out of her clothes and purchase them. "Excuse me, do you exchange this currency here?" She slips Tori the fish head stone. (I wonder what is wrong with Zaine. Have I offended him??) |
| Tori giggles, though it sounds like several squaks. "Right away honey. And don't worry about that young man. He'll be fine." She examines the fish heads and scans them under a laser. "Hmmm...these are worth quite a bit..." --- Cyn stares at the pictures on his PDA. (I should have gone shopping with them!!) |
| (Yeah, yeah nigga I'm mutha f*ckin' richhhhhh!) "Oh really? I am surprised. They are abundant on my planet." Alan replies. |
| "We've never seen these before so you'll have to give me a moment before I can actually value them." Tori says as she punches numbers into a little calculating device. "Nice job holding up the line Alan." Alexi says and her and Zaine walk up behind her. |
| "Sorry!" Alan apologizes and turns around. "Are you two getting your outfits as well?" |
| "I guess so," Zaine says unenthusiastically. "Yuppers" Alexi says. "We're getting all of it." "A pleasure as always." Tori says to Alexi. "Now miss," she says to Alan. "You're fish are worthy approximately 50 geca a piece. And your purchase comes to..." She types on her register's screen. "649G." Zaine shudders. (So much money! Why does it cost so much?) |
| (Don't you make me do f*cking math.) Alan pulls out her small coin pouch and spills out a huge pile of coins. "I think this should be enough. I'll buy their outfits as well. If that isn't enough I have a lot more!" Alan smiles and pulls out another small pile from her pouch. |
| "Oh Alan, you don't have to do that," Alexi says. (But if you insist!) She puts her mountain of clothes onto the table and Zaine follows suit. Tori scans everything then adds up the total. After Alan and Alexi check out, they head out of the store. "Well," Alexi says. "Where shall we head next?" (Why'd I have to carry everything!?) Zaine stumbles up next to them. "Can't we, maybe stop somewhere and get some food?" "Let's put these back on the ship first, then head to a restaurant." |
| "Hey! There is Cyn!" Alan points excitedly to Cyn who still seems to be fuming. |
| "Where?" Alexi looks over and spots him walking with his backpack over one shoulder. "Oh! I see him." She runs over and slaps him on the back. "And just where have you been? You missed out on a lot!" Zaine, weighed down by the girls' bags and his own, stares at Cyn. (Help me!) |
