The anime didn't end but the manga did.

Does the anime have a original conclusion or a read the manga ending? Thats what I'm asking. Just wanted to know if it ends on a good note before I start a show, since Trigun's ending annoyed me to no end.

Nope. As i said before, the anime just ended halfway when compared to its manga counterpart and the director decided not to create any extra content that might influence the actual plot. The anime basically ended prematurely without providing any proper closure.

The manga however did end so you are free to continue in manga after you finished watching the anime.

This Anime's been a pretty faithful adaptation to the original manga, and the anime ending coincides with Chapter 67 (from volume 7). So if you start reading from Chapter 68, you'll pick up right where the anime ends :).
