| At first I was like how come Mewtwo doesn't remember Ash and I know why Ash doesn't remember Mewtwo cuz he always erase his and everyone memories. Then when it show how the new Mewtwo was made with a different group of scientists, and also it sounded more female than male this times so my guess it's another Mew clone. and this Mewtwo didn't erase Ash's Memories |

| Yeah that would explain allot their voices and personalities were completely different, its just that in the flashbacks they were using similar devices so either those scientists were thinking alike or they some-how stole all the data even though the facility was destroyed (probably the second). If its another clone it would make a great set-up for a movie lets call it "family reunion" between the first Mewtwo and this new one. The plot would be something like Giovani/Team Rocket and another organization (the guys who made #2, they might even be the Kano region's villains) trying to capture their respective Mewtwo and in the process they some how meet and the Mewtwos' have to duke it out. Sometime in the movie Ash and friends show up and the knucklehead try's to stop the fighting (as always) and at first he fails - maybe he would get petrified like the first movie - so Mew shows up to save him and later proceeds to stop the fighting while Ash and gang stop Team Rocket and the other organization. It would be cool if they throw in Cain to help the gang :D |

| Necroing this discussion. Kanto Mewtwo is currently hiding in Johto with his clones, and is definetly male. He also didn't erase Ash's memory after their second meeting. Unova Mewtwo is somewhere in Unova after the movie, and is a female. They're two different pokemon, made in different places. How two different groups managed to clone Mew into Mewtwo is a different question. Maybe the remnants of the original Team Rocket cloning project made a second Mewtwo, despite the massive failure the first one turned out to be. Now, about this "Family Reunion" theory. We know that Unova Mewtwo can Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo Y. Then we have this promoposter for the next movie: [url]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/e/ea/M17_teaser_poster.png[/url] It features both, Megatwo Y and Megatwo X. It is said that the movie would heavily feature Mega Evolution, and it should be safe to say that atleast the ones in the poster woudl be featured. IF the both Megatwos are in the movie, we could have two different Mewtwos in the movie. Unova Mewtwo could come back with her Y form, and Kanto Mewtwo coudl come back, having gainign access to his X form. |

| Mewtwo was voiced by a female in Japan originally. It's just unfortunate that Pokemon America owns the anime rights now, so Dan Green was pretty much denied the role. |
