THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
First episode's up on Crunchyroll today! (The second, too, if you're paying.)

I was excited about this for the combination of seinen and food -- kinda like Antique Bakery, yeah? -- but it kind of fell short. Nothing in this episode made me want to keep watching.

Also, love blooms in a restaurant for women with glasses fetishes? Really?

Next episode looks exciting, though!

oh, these little earthquakes

Just kidding, although I did like it.

I actually really enjoyed it, despite being a guy and all the older men with glasses... I thought the atmosphere really pulled this together, and the music complemented it greatly. The characters aren't drawing me in just quite yet, but the next episode looks quite promising. Definitely will be sticking with this, it's only 11 episodes too so I don't see much of a reason not to.

The atmosphere kind of reminded me of Bartender, even if the way of telling a story is completely different. Restaurants/bars, refined gentlemen, the pace a bit laid back. Anyway, I quite enjoyed it.

When I first started watching this... I was kinda bored, but I changed my mind a bit when I was completely done with the episode. I think I'll stick with this for a while. I already went ahead and watched the second episode, and I liked that..and i'm looking forward to the third. At first, it kind of reminded me of Antique Bakery..but now I'm not really sure if it reminds me of anything. Usually in anime, you'd think the guys working in the restaurant would be young, and very cute/hot looking. But in this series, the men are old enough to be fathers and grandfathers..and I find it interesting, it's the first time I've watched an anime like this - where the main girl takes interest into someone older than her (a whole lot older - someone old enough to be her dad). The second episode was better than the first..and from the previews for the third episode, it looks like it'll be worth the watch too.

But after I finished the 1st episode I can honestly admit that I really enjoyed.

I actually kinda enjoyed the episode o: If they don't put too much romance-drama-blahblah stuff in the anime it might become something really enjoyable and interesting ^^

Exactly my thoughts. Also really similar climate to Aria, one of best series spring season, definitely keep watching this.

Also really similar climate to Aria,

It made me think of Aria as well. It's Italy, after all.

I liked this first episode, mostly because it's not about a cute girl surrounded by hot guys with super-powers.

I actually this episode. It does have an Aria feel to it. I think it's because of the pacing of the episode. lol Is it weird, if I said I was disappointed that Claudio is married? LOL

The next episode preview, seems intense, can't wait to watch it. lol

I guess what made people think of Aria was the way the restaurant was introduced, as a small treasure to be found lost in the center of Rome...
Claudio's line describing Rome, the pacing and of course the italian setting are also similar points, but I don't think the rest of the show will continue to feel similar to Aria.

I also learned that older men in anime can still be attractive. P: -creep-

it's kinda weird though, since i'm not sure what genre of anime it should be.

I must say, this anime looks set to be really impressive. I'm glad for once that the staff aren't hot, young men, because that would just be so unrealistic (and incredibly cliched).

Nicoletta and Claudio look good together. ^^

Spectacle fetish... really cute. I sorta agree with "madam" with that. Guys look way cooler with glasses! >_<

Maybe, but it's so overdone. Why can't reverse harem be a little different for once? :D Plus the men ARE hot in their own way.

I think this is pretty interesting. Why ? Because this is different from other usual romance-slice of life themed anime. With the Italian background which was also unsual but interesting, and middle aged bishounen harem this could be very interesting.

Especially the eps2 preview, i really curious with that !!

Really slow and descriptive introduction, with fun and cool characters overall. Direction is good, background art is great but I found the chara-design to be quite horrible, especially Nicoletta. I usually love Josei, but this time around, we are clearly very far from Nodame or Honey & Clover in terms of setting or plot. I kinda liked it even though I don't know if I'll continue due to themes that do not appeal to me at all.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Slow, peaceful, with good music that makes the atmosphere of romantic something... Plus - there'll probably be sth 'bout food!

Let's give it a chance - it may be what I was looking for to watch last days :)

Being based in Rome, it instantly reminded me of Aria, but with crappier background animation.
As for the characters, I'll be lying if I say I wasn't slightly put off but all the mature aged men.
But it was still interesting so I'll give it a chance for now.

I did find the first episode interesting. Hopefully, they can be able to maintain this kind of atmosphere. I like how the characters were introduced. Each of them has their own distinct and unique qualities which you can find very amusing.

I want to know how this series will turn out until the end. Perhaps, I can learn a tip or two on how to become a first class gentleman.

Actually having a fetish for men in glasses, this perked my interest at first. Though I wasn't sure how to take the fact that all the men are, just like for Nicoletta, old enough to be my father. From the start of the show, I had the feeling, from the slow pace, that it may be a series I'll drop....but after finishing it. I was surprised to have enjoyed it. And I'm a sucker for European settings.

Wow! This was definitely different. I found it pretty interesting. I have a weakness for original slow paced shows with a light but nevertheless meaningful plot full of subtle beauty. Since I have been in Rome, too, it's another reason to watch this, since the art and details of Rome shown are rather accurate.

Yay 4 originality!

I read about this show on ANN the other day and I was like this show was "focus group me".

Glasses? Check!
Uniforms? Check!
Hot old guys? Check!

Damn you Naono Bohra giving me an old guy fetish, lol!

I also love slice of life stories. So I ended up watching four episodes last night and loved it. Even her Mother who I thought I would hate is an intresting character. I can't wait to watch more.
