| Why would they choose to start in the middle of the climax? I don't see how that would help the show at all, other than making a bunch of people confused. It's not a bad episode, rather, it was pretty good if not a bit generic, but I was really looking forward to seeing the intro, only to be met with a bunch of action and more terrorists. Oh well, I enjoyed the comedic parts of the manga far more than the action arcs, so I'll be looking forward to the next episode. |

| I honestly don't know how to react to this episode. On one hand it's pretty terrible because you have no idea who these characters are and why all of this is happening, but on the other, it's pure full-on action that I found amazing, so I guess I'm intrigued? |

| Ga-Rei and Tokyo ESP are completely separate from one another. These cameos are just Xebec having fun with the characters lol. None of the Ga-Rei characters were in the Tokyo ESP manga. And ESP was never mentioned in Ga-Rei IIRC. |

| So, what the fuck is going on? There is like no explanation to what is going on like I was not expecting such a "dark" anime since the posters looked pretty bright but dayum, caught me off guard which isn't a bad thing mind you. The animation is fine I guess and the sound so far is fine but nothing spectacular. I really don't like the scene where they showed the dude with the glasses and the whatchamacallher esper person. It just seemed extremely cheesy and I've seen one too many of that guy with the glasses. Being all determined and shit but cannot get shit done to save his life. But yeah, fix that guy and tell us what's going on and this show is a go for me. All of my complaints said, I will be tuning in next week for another episode of this. Final/Random Thoughts: Shout outs to Zankyou no Terror but yeah twas an interesting twist on my part. |

| Eh.. I would've like it more if they do the first episode according from the start. Not a viewer/reader of Ga-rei, so I don't care about it. What's with Rinka and her brown hair at the end? They messed up, white hair don't turn brown even in dark.. I mean look, her inner white shirt is still white, then how come her white hair turned brown? They messed up.... That girl don't even look like rinka except for mole and red eyes. |

| so.. this anime is pretty much X-men... i mean just replace mutants with espers and more supernatural powers. Though it was still very enjoyable. Seems like there is no censor and the characters all look interesting. Animation is quite nice as well. |
| X-Men the anime. It's way better than I thought though.. definitely one of the stronger starts this season. As far as action goes, this is already better than Tokyo Ghoul and Akame. The characters were pretty much unexplained for the most part but I can live with it for now. At least I got the gist of it. Will keep watching and if it keeps going at this rate, it'll probably be one of my favorites this season. |

| Amazing! I never expected a start like that, used the formula Garei: Zero, what may be a bug going forward, as the next episode will be the 'beginning'. Lose any climate, and I do not particularly like the beginning of the manga, but if the studio surprised with this first episode, I hope something good of others. |

| Thought it was a pretty cool episode. Nothing great, but pretty decent. I had no idea this show was set in the same universe as Ga-Rei Zero. But that's pretty cool. Doubt we'll see any more of Kagura and Yomi but it'd be pretty cool if we saw more of Natsuki and Tooru since we hardly got to know them in Ga-Rei. Animation is solid enough. I don't remember the OST at all. But it seems the action will be enough to keep me watching. The characters will likely be explored pretty well if Ga-Rei is any indicator. Hopefully the story can keep up. |
| Spoiled by Zankyou no Terror but the animation is still nice in this one. Finally an anime that takes off straight into the action thought it was cool to see a change of pace also it felt like the japanese version of X-men. | I know the manga readers said that this is not connected with Ga-Rei universe, but I thought it would be nice if this is actually the prequel to Ga-Rei Zero. And I thought those orange-suited guys will have importance in the story seeing that they appear in the promotional poster, but I guess it really just a cameo after all... |

I don't get it..... Will they now start from the beginning on the second episode or do they intend to cover the time gap between the first and second season of the manga?? Since they set the start of anime at the start of the first season final arc , this kinda becomes.... weird!! The only reason I can see, is that they either want to start from the beginning from now on (and then catch up), or go through a totally original story. |

| I did never watch Ga-Rei but even I could identify the characters. Oh well, that was a messy and really intense way to start things eh? I could very much tell this was a sort of preview of what is to come and that we will need to start from 0 eventually to learn what lead to what. Still this series wastes nothing when it comes to effects and gore eh? |

| Wow that was BS, showing the main character only one scene then the credits after that. Seems very promising, espers at war with humans. Guess the title "Tokyo" (Terror in Tokyo, Tokyo Ghoul, and Tokyo ESP) has a promising amount of story in them :D. Also those Ga-Rei cameos were pretty funny though when I saw them XD. |
| Woah this is totally what I love to see! Read the Ga-Rei manga (didn't finish it though) probably 3 years ago, can't remember squat about it anymore.... But wouldn't mind going back to it now that you've all mentioned the cameos and stuff. This episode was completely rockin! Totally loved the fast pacing and the sound track and all that. I'm guessing if they have to go back to the "First episode" in the second ep, then next episode will pretty much be an anti-climax thingy, eh? Regardless, the animation is excellent, the music fitting, the fight scenes and the rest of it was done well and coherent. Second 9 of the season for me. Question though: Can someone care to enlighten me which ones were Ga-Rei cameos? I seem to have completely lost my memory of the Ga-Rei manga. |

| The animation was not bad, it was action-packed but there is something missing to make me like it. I think the execution could have been better. I'll watch the second episode to see if it's worth watching. |
| Hahaha what the hell :D I was hyped about Tokyo ESP getting an anime adaption but this was not what I was expecting from the first episode at all XD I loved what they did with this episode! The Ga-rei: Zero references were so perfect with how they did this episode :D |

| As a manga reader, the only thing I have to complain right now is that equipaments and machinery. Srly, guys, it's just people with psychic powers. And Kuroi only have ability of invisibility and she's naturally strong. There isn't nothing of a giant green colored super-punch. But well. Maybe they can work it and turn to be a good thing |

| The Kagura and Yomi cameo was nice. Had to do a double-take on whether or not I was watching the right show, only to find out it's made by the same person lol. First ep showed quality art and animation. Hopefully it stays that way throughout and they didn't use up their budget on the first few eps. |
