| So, we're sufficiently active methinks. It's time to start watching some anime... or I guess it's time to decide what anime to start watching :D Here's how it's going to work rules are not set in stone. Please PM myself or an officer if you have suggestions or input. You're also encouraged to voice your opinion in this thread, as always. Suggestions can range from serious structural changes to minor details. Don't be afraid to speak up! We will watch two anime at any given time: One Short (<26) One Long (>26) You may participate in both, one, or neither. We will set up threads for the anime and follow a general timeline for watching them, such as [x] many episodes per week, or perhaps an episodes every thursday and Sunday. [The details are still being worked out]. The comments can also be used, I'm not going to be picky ^^ What we need from each of you is a small list of anime you want us to watch together. Feel free to put just a few or quite a few. I will be going through our posted lists and selecting a smaller list which will then be put up into a poll and we will vote. Our decisions for which anime makes the vote cut will be based on a few factors. Anime that fewer people in our community have seen gets priority over anime that many of us have already watched. We'll probably choose a few that are something that most everyone could enjoy and a few that are aimed at certain populations, just to keep things varied. The whole point is to find something that most of us will enjoy watching, so you could also post something you wouldnt mind rewatching or something you think is under-the-radar and you want to bring to our attention. Ideally we wont be only picking popular or famous anime for the vote cut. I dont really know what kind of lists everyone is going to produce, so I can't give a very good estimation of the size of the vote cut, but I'll try to keep it around 4-7 per short and long anime list. It depends on how many people I expect to be voting at the time. After the list is made and the polling begins, it's anybody's guess what could win, but I personally like the idea of at least putting a few mainstream titles and a few less-known ones out there. And something in between, as well. Anyway, this is the first run so we'll fix any blips in the coming days. Things to consider when making your list: [list] [*]You can post multi-season anime in the short anime section, but we will only vote to watch one season. If we collectively enjoy it, then we will decide to watch it for the next round. A little freedom is nice. [*]As was hinted above, we'll be doing this in rounds. When we finish one anime we'll move on and start another. I dont know how the decisions will exactly be made for that, but it'll likely just be another round of suggestions and voting. Other comments of mine are towards those who like to binge on anime. You can choose to watch more or less than the prescribed number of episodes for the club, of course, but you have to be considerate of where the rest of us are at. If you meet someone who is also willing to watch it at your pace, that's great. You two or three or whatever subcommunity you want to form can watch it at the pace that works for you. You can talk about non-SWA-timeline episodes in the thread if you use spoiler tags and be clear about which episodes you are talking about, so that others can safely read the thread. Or you can use spoilers in the comments or message each other or talk to the officers if you have an idea for more interaction options. Just pay attention to the feelings of others, you know? Final note: I will be constructing a thread aimed specifically at comments about the logistics and structure of SWA and the anime watching. Please post your thoughts about it in here or in there (or msg an officer, we're pretty nice peoples >,> mostly)! We're still building this, so I'd love to hear some feedback and advice, about anything or everything. In particular, one topic which we haven't made much headway on is the scheduling. Would people prefer to vote on a schedule, or should the admins decide that for you? A number of episodes a week or episodes on set days of the week? How many a week? | So, I saw someone post AnoHana, as well as NHK, and both of those series are fantastic, absolutely amazing shows if no one's seen them. I will definitely throw my bone in with those shows! As for my own submissions (Just brainstorming, no particular order, in terms of length): -Darker Than Black (1st season is epic.) -Inu x Boku Secret Service (Fan-servicey goodness) -Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom (my sleeper fave) -Steins;Gate (If you haven't seen this, your life is lacking. Seriously.) -Nazo no Kanojo X (short, but sweet) -Speed Grapher (another good, less popular show) |

| @Taicho- Yeah, absolutely! I've seen some obscure titles mixed in as well, but all things considered, we'll poll the group when it comes closer to time for voting for the next round. I think the idea is to get a decent blend of popular, less viewed shows (by the group at large), as well as lesser known shows to vary it up. Please, don't take anyone's recommendations as inconsiderate to your preferences; in all honesty, if anyone feels that their suggestions may not be well-known, maybe give a brief synopsis with your suggestions, just so others that may not be familiar with the title off-hand have a taste of what they may be voting for. *On a side note, I myself am not too terribly familiar with those titles you've listed, however, I'm familiar with Fist of the North Star's premise (big Koei WARRIORS game series fan), so yeah. xD |
