| I've watched both seasons of the Magi TV-series, and I'm thinking of watching this with a couple of friends who haven't watched/read Magi. So would watching this spoil anything for them? Would they be able to follow the story? Seeing as this is listed as a prequel and focuses on Sinbad I presume they would, but better safe than sorry. Thanks in advance |
| The opposite is true. Both seasons of Magi are spoilers to Sinbad. If ou see Magi first know what will happen in Sinbad, even if not how. When we see Sinbad in Magi, he is already a king. As the anime continues, we see his different Djinis. As you watch Sinbad you see characters that we know from Magi that they didn't capture a dungeon, so it's really not surprising when they don't succeed. I didn't finish it (I watched till almost the end of episode 4), but I can tell you for sure it does not reach the end in epsiode 5 (whiich is cyrretnly at least the last episode). But maybe you should start with this. It's shorter and I think it is amazing to see what becomes of him 15 years later. And not only him, others change as well (though most are not seen much in Magi). |

| ^ I have to agree with EfiChan. I think your friends will benefit from watching this OVA first, then go watch Magi TV series and be surprise by some of the changes both psychically and mentally by characters like Drakon, Ja'far, etc. So to answer you question If I have the chance of turning back time I will watch this show first... |
