Tyestor said:lmao @ all these people hating shigeno in all these threads just because he got with their waifu. you want me to call the WAAHMBULANCE? pretty much everything shigeno has done since the start of the series (except for what he did in this episode, obviously) has been great. honda was alive for 6 episodes, he mostly did nice things but he also drunkenly neglected his (3 year old?) son. the fact of the matter is, none of you would know what honda would do in this situation since he's fucking dead. everyone is different and everyone reacts to situations differently. this reaction to this situation was realistic. but i guess i can't expect much from typical anime watchers.
Well, the first 2 seasons had too many Shigeno's hate and this episode pulled the trigger and everyone pointed out his bad side than even bothered looking at what he had done for the family and how much he had helped Goro up to this point. Yes, he was at fault, so was Momoko. I loved how the characters cleared up their problems. As much as I like Honda, I felt that most of the typical anime watchers were still unable to accept Shigeno as Momoko's official husband because of Honda. I felt sorry for both Momoko and Shigeno for the unnecessary hate when they are basing it from their own perspectives and how they want this and that instead of understanding the concept of the series.

He failed at that time, but it doesn't erase all the great thing he did for Goro. Shigeno acted in a childish way in this episode. What he did was wrong, very wrong. But in the end, he acknowledged that it was wrong. I swear it, some of you better not work at a prison rehabilitation team, because you would just tell every prisoners to kill themselves... Someone who is looking to make up for his errors should be able to seek it.
Even though there is some exceptions, I admit.
We'll see a match finally! Is it me or Shimizu was playing in the preview? Or was it about a softball game? In any case, Goro can probably win a game only by himself, but that wouldn't accomplish much...
I love your posts on Major series. It was a good read. c:
Yeah, I doubted Goro can win it by himself. I felt that he is too over-confident for his own good. Perhaps, he may start understand what it means to work as a team in this sequel. I don't think Goro and Fuji can carry the team alone. Even one small hit from batter and it is as if it hit a home run.

I agree with everything you just said.
This could be due to how much Honda left quite a great impression to them until Shigeno 'stole' Momoko after his death from their perspectives. I felt that many were looking at his bad side all the time instead of understanding him as a character. Sadly, Shigeno was getting even more hate from this episode alone. I felt sorry for him, especially how much he is very concerned about Goro and the very reason why Goro is still playing baseball after he blew out his right shoulder.
I doubted typical anime watchers would bother looking at the characters' perspectives. It will be mostly seen as illogical instead of realistic from how Momoko forgave Shigeno easily.
