| If you heard the anime Maria the virgin witch, then you know that it is set in the hundred years war between France and Britain. Now there is this new anime called Izetta the last witch which is set in the alternate World War 2 timeline. That was quite a coincidence on my opinion because 2 of this witch animations were based on wars. |

| Another one was in the fall 2015 season with asterisk war and rakudai no calvary. |
| I mean coincidence is the right word considering the manga for Junketsu no Maria started in 2008 and the anime started in January of 2015. So to say that there's some connection to an original series that started this month with the only similarities being historical and witches. I mean we might as well go further down the rabbit hole and call out that Strike Witches involved witches in relation to the military and the anime started in 2008 which also has a similar setting in an alternate World War 2. Coincidentally it also has a spin-off airing this season, Brave Witches. Basically what I'm saying is you're looking too hard for patterns when they're right in front of your face. |

| This one seems more interesting than the Maria anime. At least the chars here seem better. Going to watch a bit more of this. (I dropped Maria but I think I also watched a few episodes there before dropping.) Having more hope here. Chars/char design are more to my liking so far. |
