Because this manga is short (and its very good, I love it a lot), I realize there isn't much discussion on it. But! I wanted to see if I could chance a shot in the dark here and see if anyone was wondering the same thing.

So, this chapter has Kanba blindly trying to find Fujiyama, because he wants to finally publicly confess to her and let everyone know they're officially a couple. But in the middle of it, there are a few panels of Umeki looking intensely at Kanba heading straight toward him before being pushed out of the way by a classmate.

Throughout the manga, we see small scenes of Umeki not really interested in romance, instead focusing on school and clubs. Occasionally, he will have some lingering moments with Kanba, but not long enough to think anything of it...
That is until this final panel of him looking so intently at a blind Kanba coming towards him; his face seemingly covered in beads of sweat.

And I have to ask... Does anyone else think that maybe we were given subtle hints that Umeki is secretly gay? Or at least, has a small crush on Kanba? I struggle to find other reasons why the mangaka would include these scenes/panels if not to convey to the reader that there is something unspoken that Umeki feels for Kanba.

In my opinion, it would be a great way to show what might possibly be a closeted teen in this story because 1. we already see how hard it is at first for Kanba and Fujiyama to come out as a HETEROSEXUAL couple, just because the girl is tall and the guy is short, and thus getting called gay just for liking a tall girl. So imagine how someone who is actually gay might feel. And 2. because this is a story about Kanba and Fujiyama, not Umeki, it's quite interesting to have these very subtle hints about a side character, and yet not have it confirmed, denied, or even questioned in the story... because that's how real life is! You don't always know if your classmate or friend or crush was gay. And if you do find out, it could be years later or never at all. I think it fits well with a very grounded and intimate story of young love like this.

Any thoughts on this? am I missing something? That's very possible as I read this manga kind of a while ago and just noticed this while looking at this chapter (because it's cute). Please no homophobic comments, this is just a small theory that's basically a drop in the bucket compared to the story.
